Hi everyone, sharing a quick observation from central Taiwan (around Changhua / Taichung, ~24°N 120.5°E).
The northeast monsoon has settled in over the past few days and Windy has been incredibly useful for following it. A few layers I keep switching between:

Wind at surface and 850 hPa — you can clearly see the cold air pushing down the Taiwan Strait and accelerating along the western coast.
Temperature — the gradient across the island is striking. The east side stays mild because the mountains block the cold flow, while the western plains drop several degrees overnight.
Rain accumulation — picks up the orographic rain on the windward (northeast) slopes really well.[link text](link urlhttps://hjvideo.com/archives/153264/)

One thing I'd love to hear from others: which model do you find performs best for Taiwan's microclimates? I've been comparing ECMWF and ICON, and ECMWF seems to handle the mountain-blocking effect a bit better, but I'm curious about your experience.
