Currently the alerts are based on only constant wind speed and do not take into account gusts. There is little point having an alert system in this way as it does not provide useful information.

A better solution would be to add gusts as part of the preferences so as to be able to match your criteria more accurately.

Currently the alerts only represent the prevailing wind speed.
Without the ability to set custom gust ranges there are more frequent and less reliable notifications thus decreasing there usefulness.
Implementation would not need to be different from the current bar, one for consistent wind and one for gusts .

Does Windy have a function to overlap the layers or have multiple windows tracking one-another?

I'm sure we've all had it when we set notifications for a particular site only to find that while the consistent wind is in your favour, the gusts unfortunately are not.
