RE: Which weather model for Japan should we add next?
@idefix37 JMA was the first place I went to regarding researching models for Japan. LFM has only 10 hours of forecast so I was thinking more about using MSM.
Final choice depends on demand though, as LSM has much finer grid (2km vs 5km of MSM) -
RE: basic wind forecast different from animation
@gavin-q Consider picker just a preview tool, detail forecast is much more precise. When zooming, for example, picker data change quite a lot as different data tiles are used.
Example (speed and direction changes):

RE: Current data are temporarily not available
Unfortunately, Copernicus prolonged data outage. No exact date is given, only that data should be back by end of December. We will monitor the situation and get forecast back ASAP

RE: Proposal: hierarchically organized presets
@Flachkurbler I believe most of the setting you mention are stored in the URL so saving them as bookmarks might work (on PC or mobile browser).
Here are the layers and settings you mention:- pressure with pressure lines over Europe: https://www.windy.com/-Pressure-pressure?pressure,45.352,11.843,5,i:pressure
- temperature at 700hPa with pressure lines over Europe: https://www.windy.com/-Temperature-temp?700h,temp,45.352,11.843,5,i:pressure
- cloud coverage from ICON-D2 model over Alps: https://www.windy.com/-Clouds-clouds?iconD2,clouds,47.528,13.552,7
- wind from ICON-D2 at 1500m (850hPa) over Alps: https://www.windy.com/?iconD2,850h,47.528,13.552,7

RE: Aladin model
Hi @magzan, as @David-Polášek mentioned, there was a bug with displaying precipitation type of Aladin model. The fix was deployed yesterday and it should not happen anymore.

RE: MTGI-1 satellite
Hi @WX-OM, yes, we are examining the data and we want to start them using as soon as possible. Since it became available only from yesterday, there is no exact date when we will use them.

RE: Écart considérable entre prévision par 3 h ou par 1 h
@idefix37 There is something seriously wrong with merging AROME and ECMWF. Notice that after 5 days (that's when forecast step of ECMWF changes from 1h to 3h) forecast goes haywire. It is more visible with 1h forecast, but 3h forecast is wrong too. Multiple days (notice temperature going up and down - "red hills") get mashed up into one. We will investigate and fix this, thank you for the report.

RE: Current data are temporarily not available
@Skip-Freedom According to Copernicus, forecast data is expected to be back up and running by next Tuesday; on 2022-12-13

RE: Rain accumulation: 1m this is equal 1000mm, not 100mm
@Wojciech-Dobrowolski The scale is non-linear and pink color in default scale corresponds to 500mm. See color settings for rain accumulation below

RE: NAM model
@ahorvath1
Well, yes and no. Since lower resolution model is more smoothed out, it is more likely to predict rain in Your exact spot, if the rain is "somewhere" nearby. It is known as
double penalty issue
and You can read a bit more about it here. -
RE: NAM model
Hi @ahorvath1,
looks like spotwx.com uses different NAM model with 12km resolution:
Windy uses NAM with 5km resolution:
Both of them are listed here.

RE: Rain radar update interval in NZ
Hi @ingoratsdorf, Metservice NZ does indeed update their radar data every 7.5 minutes. But the price they were asking for this data was not acceptable for us, so we are only using their open access data data with 1h update. More about it here.

RE: Daerah di tempatku gak keluar untuk radar cuaca hujan
@TatrakDung
Yes, with radar data, we are completely depending on the provider (BMKG in case of Indonesia). There is not much we can do in this case. Thank You for contacting them. -
RE: Daerah di tempatku gak keluar untuk radar cuaca hujan
Hi @TatrakDung, Surabaya radar site (which covers Your area) is not providing data since 2024-09-26 6:24 UTC. You can check BMKG web directly.
This is the last image as for now

RE: Adding MTG-I1 FCI to Windy
Hi @Jakub-Gorlic, we are aware of the third generation of EUMETSAT satellite and we are waiting for the data very excitedly. But as far as I know, there has been many problems and issues with MTG operation resulting in unexpected delays and no date on data availability is set yet.
If I'm reading the post correctly, it is only about renaming User Notification Service (UNS) entries for previous generation (MSG):
