    • ECMWF windy 6 hours forecast is bad

      Hi @Korina

      • Are all the 4 time updates (every 6 hours for ECMWF) directly coming from ECMWF?
or, ECMWF provide updates to windy.com 2 times daily?
After that you make 4 times from their data?

I am asking, because ECMWF was working fine in the last year while I was in free user. But I subscribed as a premium user to get more accurate data.

But unfortunately I am very unhappy and most of the time forecast are not matching.

Please answer my questions in the above. If this continuously happens I will unsubscribe from the premium.

      Thanks

    • Thunderstorm documentation

      Hi, @Korina @gkikas-lgpz

PLEASE DO NOT SKIP OR IGNORE ANY QUESTION.

I'm struggling to read the values of thunderstorm layer. There's no official clear documentation.

Would you please answer some questions regarding thunderstorms?

      1) How do I know which value is strong/moderate or light from the thunderstorm layer?

      2) Suppose, for 3 hour period (for example: 12am-3am) thunder data is 1.33 l/km2. Is the value only 12am to 3am (3 hour) period only? If not then how can I read the data for which time period? Because for every 3 hour period it shows different data.

      3) How do you calculate this formula?

      4) Where is the official documentation?

Please clarify everything. It's so confusing to understand how the formula works.

      Thanks

    • Direct link of a location?

      Hi, @Korina @idefix37

Is it possible to get direct link of any location with specific date and time?

      For example,

      • A location name: Myanmar
      • TIme and date: 28 August 2021, Time: 16:00Z (UTC)
      • Link found: https://www.windy.com/-Thunderstorms-thunder?thunder,2021082809,19.873,96.498,8,m:efgaiPZ

But when I paste the above link individually in a browser tab, it redirects to the current date and time in timeline with the following link: https://www.windy.com/-Thunderstorms-thunder?thunder,19.873,96.498,8

My question is, can I get a link which will not redirect?

Thanks in advance for your help.

      Please let me know.

    • Rain overlay

      Hi, @Korina @jmatthys @idefix37
      Hope you are doing well.

I don't understand how rain animation works with the rain values in mm.

For example, in the rain, thunder layer, "rain animation" is SHOWING for 1.8 mm, 2.2 mm. But rain animation not showing for 3.1 mm.

Very strange? Why rain animation not showing for 3.1 mm?

      Can you please help?

    • RE: Live layer vs data set update time

      @korina

Free User: 3 hours interval means: 3pm to 6pm (for example)

Premium User: 1 hour interval means: 3pm to 4pm (for example)

Am I correct based on the above example? Do you mean that?

I thought all layers in the map updated every 3 hours intervals and all data displayed in RH PANE updated every 12 hours for FREE users.

      Thanks

    • RE: Live layer vs data set update time

      @idefix37 @Korina

Then what is the meaning of "3 Hour forecast"?

      1a814caf-cf5d-45ce-9b2e-a1e108f98901-image.png

Where 3 hours forecast is applied?

Please explain. I am still confusing.

I thought rain layer is updated separately every 3 hours.

As per the screenshot, is the rain animation updated 3h 34m ago?

Map's rain animation is coming from 12 hour updated data?

For example, At 3pm it show rain 3.4 mm in the RH PANE.

In the map rain ANIMATION represents 3.4mm?

    • Live layer vs data set update time

      For free user,
      @Korina @idefix37 @jmatthys
I know the data set in RH PANE updated every 12 hours.
But when the live pages (e.g. "rain, thunder") is updated?

Is it live or it has different update schedule?

      Thanks

    • RE: How to add more forecast values to forecast model?

@idefix37 @Korina I already tested using icons. Using Icons I can understand that if thunderstorms will be occur or not only.

But the actual problem is different. There is no way to understand the status of the thunderstorm.

For example, How strong is the thunderstorm?

For example, 0.25 I/km2 is MODERATE but 1.06 I/km2 is very STRONG thunderstorm.

So values are always important to predict the actual condition of the thunderstorm.

      So I need values.

      Any way to overcome this?

      Thanks again.

    • RE: How to add more forecast values to forecast model?

      @idefix37 @Korina Yeah, definitely, it will take a lot of time if I am going to check values suppose, for 5 locations for 12AM, 3AM, 6AM, 9AM, 12PM, 3PM, 6PM, 9PM, 12AM.

      Suppose, I want to see values for Thunderstorms for 12AM, 3AM, 6AM, 9AM, 12PM, 3PM, 6PM, 9PM, 12AM.

To view such values, I have to click mouse/press keyboard for 9 times only for 1 location. So for 5 location I have to click 45 times.

However thanks for replying here. But still if you have any other quickest way please let me know.

Or, can I get an standalone tab for thunderstorm which is similar to Wave?

      Thanks in advance.

    • RE: How to add more forecast values to forecast model?

@korina I wanted to see values for 12AM, 3AM, 6AM, 9AM, 12PM, 3PM, 6PM, 9PM, 12AM for thunderstorms, Wave etc as exactly as like Temperature, WInd gust values in the forecast RH Pane.

But it seems this feature it not available in windy.

Because if I check manually it will take a lot of time. That's bad idea.

Is there any other quickest way which I can follow to see all 24 hours values for thuderstorms, wave etc?

      Thanks

    • How to add more forecast values to forecast model?

      HI,
I want to add more data values in the forecast model. @Korina

In "Basic" or "Meteog." view in RH Pan, I can see many options available. But I want to add more.

For example, How to add Thunderstorms, Humidity, Wave, Air quality VALUES in the RH PAN forecast model?

So that I want to view all forecast values for Thunderstorms, Humidity, Wave, Air quality as exactly as how Temperature, Wind, Wind gust values are displayed.

      Is it possible?
