    • Map Layer keeps reverting to "Wind" in Home Page - iOS App

From the app Home page then moving to the Map page, the different map layers can be selected from the right side of the screen (by tapping on "Wind", which is the default layer). However, when returning to the Home page, the layer reverts back to "Wind" regardless of the layer selected in the Map page.
The workaround is to disable "Wind" from the layers that are available so that the last layer selected in the Map page will be displayed in the Home page. However, even if "Wind" is no longer in the list of available map layers, the default tab on the right side of the screen still says "Wind", even if the current layer isn't "Wind".
      For example:

      • Home page, default is Wind layer.

      • Go to Map page, "Wind" is displayed on the right side of the screen in a small tab like shape showing that it is indeed the displayed layer.

      • Select "Rain, snow". The displayed layer should change, and "Rain, snow" is in the small tab.

      • Go back to Home page, layer is back to Wind.

      • Now, go back to Map page (tab again says "Wind") and disable Wind from the available layers, and select any other map layer, e.g. "Rain, snow" again.

      • Go back to Home page, layer should still be "Rain, snow" (or whatever was selected).

      • Go back to Map page, the small tab says "Wind" although the current map layer is NOT Wind.

This happens in the iOS app.

Anyone else experiencing the same bug?

    • RE: Windy launches Satellite layer

Nice addition! Now with worldwide radar, lightning strikes, and then satellite imagery, Windy is probably the most complete weather information provider available worldwide! Keep them coming!

Now that I recall, for iOS, it would be nice to have the option to also display (in a separate widget) any of the current weather map layers from the Windy app. Would love to see the latest radar image in a widget, or even IR+!

    • App Notifications for Weather Conditions

The content in the Windy app is so far the most comprehensive I've seen in a weather app in the iOS AppStore (probably also in the GooglePlay Store). I was thinking, given the amount of data available to the app, having the ability to set custom weather app alerts (push notifications?) would make the app even more powerful than it already is.

Some of the (push?) notifications could be:

      • An alert when a current conditions reach a certain set of custom criteria (e.g. current amount of precipitation exceeds 8mm/hr).
      • An alert when the forecasted amount of precipitation for a certain period into the future exceeds a certain amount (e.g. when the forecasted accumulated precipitation for the next 12 hours exceeds 50mm).
      • An alert when pollution levels (CO, SO2, dust) become too high.

Or, similar to how the user can customize which layers will appear, or which color palette will be applied, probably the user can be allowed to create custom weather alerts - now this will blow every other weather app away!

    • Radar and Lightning for the Philippines

Please add Radar and Lightning coverage for the Philippines - other apps are able to do this (such as RainViewer and RainAlarm for radar, and Blitzortung and Meteoplaza for lightning). This will very useful since the country is visited by around 10-20 typhoons each year, and experiences rainy season for around half a year.

    • Feature Request: Forecasted Weather for Current Location

      Good morning, Windy Dev Team,

Currently, the app would show the forecasted weather for the major cities overlayed on the map. Please add an option or ability to display the forecasted weather for the user’s current location instead.

This will be useful especially for those who don’t live in major cities, without having to zoom in and look for where their currently in.

Along these lines, it would also be useful to show the user’s current location together with the forecasted weather for that location both in the map.

Looking forward to your thoughts on these.

      Thanks!

@gpobernardo Yes this is the first layer and the beginning of the layer's, so suggest if you want it on clouds then goto the cloud layer and when it saw up go directly to save bookmark in your Browser from there you get n bookmark for this layer ( clouds ) in your browser goto bookmarks select this cloud bookmark and click on it when open your on the ( clouds layer )

Hello @Chrisbeets , thanks for your reply. However, I was referring to the iOS App, not the browser - no problems with my browser (Chrome).

@dzuremar Found it, thanks! Didn't know it already included push notifications, thought the alerts were only through email.
