Re: Hurricane Filter
The tracker does not show the closest disturbance. Developers, please take a look at the use cases of users in different regions where they want to get a quick view of the potential risks to them, their property, and their families, not trying to interpret which ocean a thumbnail might possibly represent.

We would benefit from the ability to limit the regions we see hurricane information. While there might be passing interest in world hurricane events, getting to the point of planning for potential risks would be much faster if I could focus the information in Windy on the hemisphere or region relating to me.

Hurricane Filterposted in Your Feedback and Suggestions
Hurricanes in other hemispheres are interesting but not as important as ones that may impact me and my family. I believe they need to be organized or sorted by region, by headers by region, or provide the ability to filter out hurricanes that are not relevant to the viewer. I am not suggesting that all hurricanes should not be visible, but when there are multiple active hurricanes, it should be instantly obvious which ones might impact them based on where they are or where they plan to be or what area they are particularly interested in (like if they have friends or family in another region).

The function on Android does not show the time clearly or accurately and the sky clearness never changes to night time. It is a great concept but is not reliable!

Route Planning Mobileposted in Windy Premium
My premium version on iPhone does not show the times related to the hourly forecast for a given route. I am setting the trip to "Boat" and entering a speed. I see winds, direction, waves, etcetera, but not the various times that would be calculated based on my "Route Start Time".
I would be happy to provide a marked-up screenshot to more clearly explain this if anyone is interested in understanding this more. -

I find ECMWF the most consistent.

RE: Any chance we can get a wind chill layer?posted in Your Feedback and Suggestions
@jimerb I agree and appreciate the bump. Wind Chill temperature is very important in Canada as well. So much so that the federal government meteorological office (Environment Canada) has a section of their website dedicated to educating the population on Wind Chill with an explanation of why it is a public safety issue! There happens to be a table (in C) that could be used by Windy to perform the calculations!! Hint, hint!! :)

Please add the overnight Low Temperatures forecasted to these 5-day forecasts. I definitely like to see what the highs are but knowing what the low temperature will be lets me plan other activities as well!

Wind Chillposted in Your Feedback and Suggestions
I do like how the data is displayed but feel adding a simple value of wind chill would add a lot of value in our sailing off-season. Where a number of free weather sites offer that data, it is somewhat annoying that the service we pay for can't present that basic calculation (using data already available).
Your consideration for everyone who go outside in areas that fall below 0C, would be appreciated.

RE: Display hurricane tracksposted in General Discussion
I still think a predicted Hurricane Track layer would be very useful safety information with the forecasted date/time/wind speed/direction indicated or available. The data is presented by NWS (US) and ECCC (CA). Other weather apps have access to this information. Assembling this information via multiple layers is not an optimal process, and is an example of where technology can be used to effectively consolidate data and present it in an easy to interpret visualization (which Windy does so well in so many other ways!).
Maybe the gap in seeing the value of this information being presented in this way is the while hurricane forecasts are critical decision making tools in very specific areas of the world, maybe these areas do not have the degree of representation by influencers or decision makers within Windy? Just wondering. -
RE: New mobile version is here, how do you like it?posted in Announcements
I didn't have specific issues with the mobile version previously, but so far I like the new layout. One issue in the introduction above the comments I noticed a small typo. "... that fixes a lot of complains..." should read "... that fixes a lot of complaints..." :)
