@panosrunner I believe the updates indicate the main source for these data feeds is unavailable right now, but there are other ways of accessing the data. Windy may be using the method that is unavailable and are just waiting for it to become available again instead of changing their data source. Other sites may be pulling in the same data from a method that remains available, such as ftp.

RE: What happened to the forecast links on the left of the footer?
I am also a bit bothered by this change and would appreciate the return of the "Forecast for this location" button when clicking on a site with observed weather. I operate a weather station that is displayed on Windy and my habit has always been to click on my own weather station, and then select the "Forecast for this location" option to quickly get to my own local forecast. Now I have to click "near" my weather station if I want the forecast, which is a friction, and I can no longer see recent observed conditions plus the local forecast in a single click-through. I click the weather station for observations, then I need to back out of it and click somewhere else near to it for the forecast. Also, to click "near" the weather station, and not kms away, one has to zoom way in first or it will just bring up the station with no forecast option.
I would note, this seems to be bringing the mobile version behaviour to the web client. This behaviour always frustrated me on the mobile client too, but I mostly just ignored it and used the web client 95% of the time instead. I'd like to see forecast included as an option for a clicked observation site in mobile too really. I would use it more then.

RE: Suggestion: Stargazing layer
Environment Canada provides astronomy forecasts https://weather.gc.ca/astro/index_e.html - I am not sure they do anything more than a North American model, or if anyone else provides anything similar. I use their cloudiness, transparency, and seeing forecast maps all the time through http://www.cleardarksky.com - Clear Dark Sky also models darkness relative to sunset/sunrise and moon brightness.
