Apple Watch faces are nice. The radar implementation is very good. However there seems to be no recognition by the windy Apple Watch app for the fact that if you have cellular data and you have a GPS you still require the phone. The whole idea of having an Apple Watch with cellular is not to be tethered to your phone. If I'm working out or in the woods, chances are I'm not gonna take my phone when I have a cellular enabled Apple Watch. Unfortunately no phone pretty much cuts the Windy application off at the legs. why cannot the application on the watch recognize the fact that it has a GPS and not tell me that I have to go to my iPhone and enable location data which I already have but since I don't have the phone with me it doesn't work. Who needs the phone when I have a GPS on my Apple Watch. Who needs the phone when I have cellular data on my Apple Watch ? What's the issue preventing recognition of these long available Apple Watch functions? by not recognizing Apple Watch cellular capabilities, or the onboard GPS your handicapping quite a large number of Apple Watch users. And assuming that an Apple Watch user always wants to or needs to have their phone with them is a little shortsighted given the reason why people buy Apple watches in the first place. After all, if I have my phone who needs to have weather data on their watch.
