I understand that you would like to see inversion of temperature on a map. But I don’t think that inversion of temperature is due to human activity such as industrial activity. It is just a natural phenomenon that occurs specially in cold season. It brings stratus or even fog when the inversion is close to the ground. In an industrial region the inversion traps the air pollutants. IMHO temperature inversion is the cause of the pollution concentration, not the consequence.
