Do you remember when Skype was a perfect, quick, slim and loved app? Then Microsoft bought it and converted it to a sluggish, slow, overcomplicated monster crashing computers and phones nobody loved any more. You are now on the same path.
I don't want a master-class to check my weather. I want a quick, user friendly, responsive smart app with precise predictions. An app like windy before this update. These silly huge pictures instead of menu - whom are you trying to impress with unhelpful, similarly looking pictures with tiny size text, instead of a quick and slim menu which is easy to read?
The UI became cluttered, confusing, easy to lose details you want to see, just gimmicks. Maybe there are improved functions, but I can't see them through the pile of shiny junk you added. Clean it back, bring back usefulness, order, stability and clarity. This is a weather app, not a game for preschool children.
I loved windy and bought license to support it. Now I won't renew it and will look for something else. You killed it.

Please bring back old version. You killed a beautiful thing. New version is cluttered, unnecessarily huge images to illustrate every mode take up so much space. harder to navigate and find items, tiny fonts are VERY hard to read, it is slower to respond, location tracking easy to lose. Basically - it is totally messed up. I loved it. now i don't think i will renew my subscription. Obsession with changing what is good is not always paying off. Bring back old version ASAP, please. When you have real improvements, put them in. but don't destroy your beautiful creation!

this is what android users faced long ago, complained long ago to no avail. Now it came to website. I tried to use website as much as possible - now it is the same sxxx. For some reasons - even when asking for feedback - app designers completely ignore these comments for many months, almost a year, completely infatuated with this bad and clumsy design. I find it shocking. Is this done for customers? or for themselves? If for customers - respect their comments, make it more friendly again without all these "improvements" bothering users around the globe.

I suggested long ago - if designers love this style so much - make it an option. maybe some people share this bad taste and impractical version and would use it. But create a switch that would display old style, clear and compact menu and info. Then you can still love what you did, and thousands of users really irked by this unfriendly idea would have option to "go back" or keep it simple and better.

But I guess they will never listen. They love this junky design so much no word of opinion can change it. I am considering cancelling my paid subscription. maybe if enough of us just stop paying - they will notice something is not ok. I would come back to paid when it is fixed. because they don't respect normal comments, and this "upgrade" is the proof. Sad. Spatne hlopcy.

It is like you do something nice, but then decide to mess up some other things, and opinion of users does not matter to you.

Like you did before - you destroyed a smart, tightly made menu with clumsy and confusing picture icons, taking much more space so it is slower to use - and decided it is best thing ever you did, despite endless comments otherwise.

AND NOW - I notice ugly red-brown stripe at the bottom of my PC monitor, with changed menu.
Instead of model selectors before - I now need to open drop-down menu, select model, then close menu. 2 extra clicks each time I need to see different models, and the red stripe is distracting from main image (actual weather image), ugly, and serves no purpose. and the drop-down menu? WHY????? There is so much space empty. maybe on a tablet it makes sense, but i use large PC monitor and it is just weird.

In older version wind gusts were a sub category just under wind. Very easy, quick and handy. Now it disappeared. Where? I am sure it is somewhere, but in this clunky, ugly, bulky, confused new layout I can't find it.

Living in tropical mountains it is wind gusts that often can do a damage even without storm or hurricanes. so it was essential to see it quickly. Now - it is gone somewhere.

Why do i need to spend time going back and forth and remember illogical setup - just because you fancy to make it all worse? You had a jewel; you killed it and think you created a masterpiece. So why nobody jumps with joy except you?
Paying Premium for all these downgrades? I just cancelled my Premium account. maybe if enough of us show it this way $$$ will convince you to listen to so many complaining people. Please trust me. I have art education and decades long creative career. it is not more beautiful, more organized, and more user-friendly. It is ugly, confusing and terrible. First it was a mess only on phone, so i tried to use only my desktop. now even that is "upgraded". If you care for your paying users, please go back - or make it an option to switch to what you did so well before this unnecessary shamble. Thank you.

@Flachkurbler exactly. You said what I wanted to add to my comments. Very easy to use - when you spend 2 weeks learning it, buy a new powerful phone that is dedicated only to this app so no lagging, or maybe a big tablet instead - to accommodate for unnecessary big icons on menu, and get used to all awkwardness. Very easy. Thank you! It is only us, uneducated users without master class diploma who can't appreciate this marvel. Easier still is to look for another, friendlier app.

I also can't stand these clumsy big unnecessary images, they take so much space and make finding what I want so much more difficult. If you guys are in love with your designing skills and can't shake off your unconditional love for these, at least make it optional to make it text only menu, for those who prefer functionality over gadgetry. Please. All other issues with new version still valid. It simply sucks. And the app after recent update crashes so often it is totally sad. You are killing your own baby.

I cancelled my subscription because windy is going down the drain with all horrible menu changes, messed up buttons and other things that only windy owners think are great. My money should not support this shamble.
So stop nagging me now at every button I push to "fix issue with subscription". It is not issue. It is my decision. You don't need to block my screen with graphic saying that thanks to wonderful supporters you managed to mess up your (used to be) fantastic app.
I have my brains and eyes. When it gets back to the level from before this disaster I may consider subscribing again, although I find ignoring hundreds of similar negative comments and beggings to go back - quite arrogant. So, it would take a while to bring my trust back.
Once again, stop nagging me. Respect my decision. If you want my financial support, at least show you care about hundr D's or thousands of
customers that happen to not like the mess you created. Grow up. Nagging is cheap.

It is a valid post. Since you are not listening to feedback, many disappointed users may want out, and a forum is to help each other, in such emergency situations when you scare off loyal users too. If you want to be ahead of competition, do it through real improvements, listing to comments - not through censure of posts

I think current designer of this app always wanted to do computer games, and has unfulfilled passion for adding extra clicks and unnecessary steps, oversized icons, and so on - stuff that may be fun for him, but not to many users of this app, ha ha.

I am puzzled why you always send users to search where things you changed are, or if they work as before. Why on earth you need to change things so often, when they work well?

I live in a hurricane belt zone, and we are in hurricane season. knowing if weather was just updated or it is "old news": is vital. much more than large colorful icons you spent so much time and enthusiasm implementing.
This is about reliability, efficiency, and clarity of information for many of us. not about Nintendo game appeal of clicking through.

You sometimes do improvements. Yes. Also you make things worse for no reason. But one thing is clear - you HATE listening to feedback, especially if it is not what you hope for - negative comments about changes. I see long pattern of you ignoring countless voices to bring back better options. You just know better. you love your changes (often cluttering the screen making it less functional), and customers should just shut up. yes? That is the general feel of interactions with your team.
You seem to forget that the experiments you do are on live version, making it hard on customers wo actually pay you money.
Make a beta program, play with things, ask for feedback (and ignore it as you wish) - but please do not constantly change the official version, making it often worse. It is obsession with fixing good things. just because you can, does not mean you should. It is a seriously disappointing approach which I notice over 2 years or so...

So, I don't see favourites in "search locations" bar as I used to do. instead it shows some search history from long time ago, places I don't need to see now.
i need to type my approximate location (giraudel) - then my favs show up.

But look at screen shots. at the same 5-days weather opens too.
when i close 5-days weather prediction to access animation button and see how rains are coming - my fav disappears from "search locations" bar again (why??? i am still looking at that area?)

So, as described - i need to type my location again in "Search locations" bar - and my fav shows again. But at the same time 5-days weather stripe shows aGAIN, BLOCKING BUTTONS AND INFO UNDER IT. so it goes like a circle. either you have your fav location, or you can use animation for radar or clouds. it is not logical or helpful, since these are among several options to do when you open your location. I hope you understand now what I try to explain... and favs were always available in "search locations" bar, i just had to click on it and select one of my favs. now they are not there, just show when i type my area. so something changed, and not for better.

I just noticed a new problem today.
My favourites disappeared from location window. They always were there, just a click on location bar (left upper corner) would show them to me. Now there is nothing. So, I type my location. it shows up.

But there is more weird problems:
I open radar layer to see if any rain coming right now. But I can't see it - because when i click on my fav location - a week weather prediction stripe shows in bottom, covering these buttons to show live progress of rains and clouds on radar.

So, i click the cross to close the week prediction stripe so i can access live buttons under that. But as it closes - it also removes my favourite location!
So, i type it again - then a week prediction stripe shows again, blocking access to live buttons on radar screen. So, i click the cross to close it. And as it closes - it also removes my fav location. So, i need to type it again, and as it shows - week prediction stripe shows, blocking buttons of live progress on radar layer. and so on and so on - until you die of madness.
It was not like this. A vicious circle.
I wish so much you stop destroying what worked well, and make it again more user friendly.

It almsost feels like a bunch of children entered your designing/developing office and they have fun messing things out while no adult is watching. Rather sad.

Trying to customize menu.
A pity I need to waste time trying to fix what was once perfect. But it is better than nothing.
I truly hope that you will add option to switch off confusing clumsy icons, and have menu as text only. So much more can fit, and less confusion with similarly looking cheesy icons. Personally I just hate them. Please make it an option to have normal text menu. Thank you.
