Hello Windy team and community members,

I often use Windy to track the weather, especially when trekking and planning trips to the beach. The app is really powerful, but I have a few ideas for a better user experience:

Customize the toolbar:

Currently, the toolbar is quite complete, but it is a bit confusing when you want to quickly find your favorite data layers. It would be much more convenient if you could allow users to “pin” or rearrange their favorite data layers.

“Lite” mode for mobile:

On some low-end phones, loading the full map is a bit slow. A light mode that only shows the basic data layers (wind, temperature, and rain) would be very useful.

Custom Alert Integration:

For example, users can set an “alarm” condition when the wind exceeds X km/h in their chosen area. This will be great for outdoor activities.

Quick Start Guide:

Many of my friends found Windy a bit difficult to get started with. A small “Quick Start” section would help them get started more easily.
