Fairbanks METAR is reporting IFR conditions and currently windy keeps showing over 100 miles of visibility in Fairbanks. Does Windy use the METARS to update the weather? If not, seems like they should, it's valid and up to date info!

RE: Airports labeled VFR when clearly not VFR
On another note, which is a different problem.. I just posted about Fairbanks being IFR and the METAR reporting less than a mile vis while Windy shows currently 125 miles of visibility. So there's something there with the reporting not correlating or using the METAR to update airports.

IFR in Fairbanks and showing 120 miles of visibility on Windy
I have used the Windy App a lot, and have found it to be fairly accurate in areas where there are no weather reporting stations. However today it is IFR in Fairbanks and Windy is not catching up, I've refreshed and waited for the current conditions to catch up ... and still showing unlimited visibility. Makes me ponder about using the app for places and areas that don't have cameras or METAR's .. I realize this is a novelty and can't be absolutely relied upon to give accurate weather but it has been a nice tool thus far.
