Tu vis à la Guadeloupe et tu ne sais pas trouver les Antilles sur une carte de l’Atlantique?
I agree with those threads regarding the naming convention/policy, but the post I quoted in French said that the 'Islands' (of the French West Indies) don't even show on the Windy Map.
That is not correct.
And if we are talking about storm tracking, it is clear where the islands of the eastern caribbean are, even at zoom levels where you cant see each individual small island. The same applies to the Greek Islands too.
Thanks a lot for trying to provide some type of hurricane tracking and prediction, I think this will be very appreciated by a lot of users.
Just for interest, this link has some great sat photos of Hurricane Florence:
I started a thread a few weeks ago asking if Favourites could be made to save in the same way as URL Parameters.
That would solve this and other requests, and work across both mobile and web platforms and devices so that everything is synchronized.
Unfortunately it didn't seem to get much traction, nobody from windy even commented.
Anyway, here is the thread: https://community.windy.com/topic/6368/favourites-url-parameters
Regardless of whether this name is right or wrong (and you can find some other discussion on the subject in the forum - remember the main developer is from Prague), almost all questions in relation to map issues are answered by the following post in the FAQ:
Hope this helps :)
Yes but as you mentioned this doesn't work for all situations.
It would be simpler if Windy could just amend Favourites to save the exact URL Parameters so that the location, the zoom level, the layer, the preferences - the entire view for that location, is saved.
I hope someone from Windy is monitoring this thread because I didn't see any reply from them here.
I did however see a different thread on the zoom level changing unexpectedly, which is quite frustrating (https://community.windy.com/topic/6388/zoom-level-in-url-is-lost-when-displaying-detailed-forecast/4) hence why I would just prefer Favourites to let me go to the exact view, with the exact zoom level that I want, everytime.
Looks like your connection to Windy Community was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
