    • UI starts flashing when airports activated

      Hello,

Since a couple of days, after activating the airports layer the app hangs and the screen starts flashing like crazy then the app crashes.

This is on my Android 14 phone.
I tried rebooting, reinstalling, clearing data and caches.

Windy works fine the widget too, UNTIL I activate airports.
To get around this I need to delete the app, reboot, reinstall and clear caches.

My phone (Samsung) was not updated or anything in the last week or so. The Windy app has been working perfectly the last 4 years on this phone.

      What could be the issue?

    • RE: Summer in the city: Heatwaves in urban areas, their impacts, and future challenges

"Global surface temperature records date back to 1850, meaning this result is based on 176 years of measurements."

As this 'report' seems to be based on a miniscule fraction (176 years) since the beginning of this planet.
And as 1850 was the end of the 'Little Ice Age' and we had the Medieval and Roman warm periods before that where average .
I can conclude that this report is very shortsighted and pure scare mongering.

The climate is one thing: it is always changing and never constant. We live in between ice ages in a relatively cool period.

The Sun rules the the energy we get om this planet. The atmosphere serves to cool the surface, energy always flows from hot to cool. There is nothing we humans can do to change 'influence' that. And no, 0,04% CO2 can not 'warm' the planet with its own radiated energy.

I reported this too as a bug in the UI when the airports layer is active.
