    • Adding Hi Res ACCESS C Weather Model

      Hi,

It would benefit weather forecasters and weather enthusiasts in Australia greatly if the high resolution ACCESS C model was added to windy.

This model is similar to the ACCESS G Model, but it has a 1.5km resolution. The ACCESS C model is for all capital cities in Australia.

This model is fantastic for storm, rain, and wind forecasting.

Here are some details here if anyone on the Windy team likes the idea:

    • Rainfall Accumulations

      Hi Guys

I have a suggestion for the program.
That is for us to be able to pick certain times to show the forecast rainfall accumulation.
      For example:
A rainfall accumulation forecast for the 28th of March to the 1st of April. And picking and choosing to view the forecast rainfall accumulations for individual days.

I think this would be very helpful, especially when forecasting rainfall for specific days, or for a future weather event.

      Cheers,

    • RE: Propose a NEW LAYER / FEATURE You'd like on Windy

@idefix37 Yeah no worries. There are only 2 main Australian models. These are ACCESS G and ACCESS C. I think all the info can be found here http://www.bom.gov.au/nwp/doc/access/NWPData.shtml

If any more info is needed please let me know, adding these models would be very useful for weather forecasters like myself in Australia.

Does this mean it will be higher resolution? And will there be more accurate thunderstorm forecasting?

    • Total Totals Index

      Hi

Is it possible to add a few more severe weather indexes to windy for the EC and/or GFS model?

Such as the TT index, or even lift index (LI)

I think this would be very helpful for forecasting storms
      Thanks

    • Suggestion For Windy Australia

      Hi There

I am a weather forecaster from the east coast of Australia.
I would like to suggest that the Australia local model ACCESS G or ACCESS C SYD be added to windy?

I know this would be very helpful for people in my position too, and myself. I really enjoy windy the way it is, just a suggestion.

      Thank you
