What does Windy have against wind chill???

The new weather picker (app v39.1.4) makes it impossible to move the map around while keeping the same location as the weather focus. Echoing what others have posted, this new version is a downgrade in functionality. Please allow users to disable the weather picker entirely or return to the way it was.
Edit: I just discovered how to disable the crosshair, thankfully. But instead of long pressing to select a new location while a weather forecast is showing, the user has to close the forecast bar, put the crosshairs on the desired location and then choose "Show forecast for this location. Clumsy. Too many steps. The previous location picker was superior to the current version, IMHO.
Is there a way to set the default 'Display as', i.e. Basic, Wave&Tide, Wind, etc.? If so, how? My app always opens in Basic and I'm tired of having to change it every single time. Note, it's nice that the map can start in Wind but that's not helpful if I don't get the forecast info and pointers that come with the Display.
Is there a way to set the default Zoom? If so, how? My app always opens incredibly zoomed out, which is useless for detailed info.
Note: I'm a premium subscriber.
Cheers.
@tapirko There is a workaround to limit the crosshairs. (See image below.)
To select a new location is clumsy and not as intuitive as in previous versions: close the forecast bar, put the crosshairs on the desired location and then choose "Show forecast for this location" in the new weather picker bar at the top.
There is a lack of consistency between the desktop and mobile (iOS) app.
The lack of consistency leads to a confusing user experience. Suggestions:
Create consistency by choosing a method and sticking to it on both platforms.
Be consistent in the 'sidebar' icons and their functionality on both platforms. Honestly, I never know where to look for anything. See images below.

@Ondřej-Šutera Thanks for the reply. Very weird. This morning when refreshing the desktop its UI was back to desktop UI. Yesterday, as indicated above, I was getting the mobile UI on the desktop. Odd.
Still, my feedback stands for having consistency across all UI's, and for providing separate icons for Favourites and User (login, profile, personal settings). The Hamburger can have all the other stuff.
Also, I still can't figure out what the point of the Home icon is on the mobile UI.

@idefix37 , this option doesn't work when launching from the widget. What's needed is a startup model setting that is retained regardless of how the app is launched.

@Ondřej-Šutera, "Already releasing" ?? When?
I'm having the same issue. It's been going on for a while now.

It looks like a change was made today. Desktop Windy now looks like the mobile app. What's weird is that it's hard to find a login. Neither the hamburger nor the Home icon provide login. But under the Pin icon there's a '🤍' for Favourites. That's where I find a login option. I don't understand why there just can't be a '🤍' all the time as well as an icon for the user profile and desired settings. To be honest, this whole version is rather clunky.
Whichever, the two interfaces just need to be consistent.
One thing to consider re. icons vs fields + words, is the limited display space on the mobile app.

Is there a way to download GPX terrain maps within the Windy app for offline use?
