I would like to give some feedback about the new lightning display introduced in the latest app update.

Personally, I find the new lightning visualization much less clear and less intuitive than the previous one. I was used to the old style and found it much easier to immediately see where lightning activity was occurring on the map.

I understand that the new design may be an improvement for some users, but I would really appreciate having the possibility to choose between the new and the previous lightning display.

Could you please consider either restoring the previous style or, even better, adding a setting that allows users to choose their preferred lightning visualization?

I wanted to attach a screenshot of how I currently see lightnings but I am unable to upload it here.

In my opinion, the visualization has gotten much worse after one of the recent updates, even if you said there were no changes.

Before, I could see past lightnings and their history. Now they disappear after a very short time and I can only see the ones that are detected while I have the app open in real-time. If I close the app and reopen it later, past lightnings are gone and not recorded.

Also, the new lightning icons/visualization itself is less clear than before.

I always considered Windy the best app to follow thunderstorms, at least here in Italy, because it integrated lightnings with precipitation radar very well, but now it is not like that anymore.

Could you please check if this is a bug or a setting? Please consider doing an update to bring back the old functionality.

The recent changes to the lightning display are a significant step backward. The previous visualization was much clearer, more intuitive, and made it easy to identify and track thunderstorm activity. With the new display, it is also no longer possible to clearly view the most recent lightning strikes, which is a major issue for users who rely on radar data in real time.
Please restore the previous lightning visualization as soon as possible, or at least provide an option in the settings that allows users to switch between the old and new display styles. The old system was far more effective and user-friendly.
