    • 850 Wet Bulb Potential Temperature.

An additional field which could prove very beneficial for airmass/frontal identification and location, would be the addition of a field for the conservative parameter of 850 wet bulb potential temperature.

    • Skew T

      For Attn @johnckealy
Skew T are a great addition thanks.

Question about Cursor arrow location and values provided.
Does the position of "users" cursor indicate parameters read of the skew T plot exactly ?
Placing cursor on Skew T plot gives height in Km, pressure in Hpa wind(strength and direction) and temperature.
My question is there appears to be a slight error of approx 20 Hpa between cursor position and pressure level read of Skew T.

    • RE: Android 14 and Windy app

@Suty as of today 1/3/25 the app appears to now be responding normally, i.e. not slow and unresponsive.
      Hopefully improvements will be sustained.
Not sure whether improvements correspond to an app update.
      Whatever thanks,

    • Frontal identification

Availability of 850 Wet Bulb Potential temperature would be a indispensable addition to the array of parameters already displayed. This would enable frontal discontinuities to be rapidly identified. A feature currently lacking. Quote ECMWF "850 hPa wet-bulb potential temperature is commonly used to identify air masses and a strong gradient of wet bulb potential temperature is indicative of fronts between two different air masses." The addition of this field is arguably more useful than the humidity field currently available, as this is a non conservative field. Here's hoping 🤞

    • New 15 day forecast great, how about reinstalling skew t's after day 5

Would be beneficial to have ability to view skew t's after day 5. Currently unavailable.

    • RE: Sneak Peek into Windy v47: Smarter, Cleaner & More Connected

Disappointed that an opportunity has been missed by not introducing 850 HPa theta W fields. There have been multiple posts requesting frontal identification, and I can understand reluctance to marking fronts,(as this is forecaster produced) however as a conservative property, 850 HPa theta W fields are invaluable in identifying airmass boundaries and arguably more relevant than moisture fields currently available..

    • Your location via GPS.

Hello, recently my Windy App(for Android) fails to locate me accurately on opening app, even though I have it set to GPS. Historically this wasn't an issue ,this suddenly has appeared It can be 20 - 160 km inaccurate. If I open Google maps my location via GPS is correct and then immediately opening Windy then enables app to identify accurate location. Any thoughts why this issue might have arisen ? Thanks.

    • Sea fog barely visible.

      Hi,1000007776.jpg ))
Today there are patches of sea fog in the Irish Sea.
On Windy satellite "blue " scale, it is barely discernable, slightly more so on plain visible, marginal on infra red.see Sat24 for comparison.
It it possible to tweak the radiance scale to make fog more "visible"?

      Thanks

    • RE: Anaprop on UK radar.

@Suty Thanks for clarifying. Thought that probably was the case. Makes it somewhat difficult to ascertain whether echoes are for real, especially in cases of sporadic outbreaks of medium level instability. But having ability to overlay satellite to corroborate or reject radar echoes pictures helps clarify situation.

    • Anaprop on UK radar.

      Hello,

Noticed quite extensive anaprop on UK weather network over Irish Sea. Radar echoes south of UK are real.``

Assuming it's related to atmospheric high pressure, and the ![alt text])Windy radar is undoctored without normal algorithms to filter out anaprop.
UK Met office radar presentation is clear of this anaprop.

Presume Windy has no control over the radar image presentation?

@Suty Checking for updates to Android 14 (non available)was my first course of action before posting this lack of responsiveness experienced using Windy app.
Also removed and reinstalled app, cleared cache and storage. All to no avail, problem unfortunately persists.

Latest incarnation of Windy app on Android 14 phone has in the last week become very slow and unresponsive.

Think this was detailed recently. Running app with earlier Android 12 does not appear to be affected by slowness.
