Agree. New UI is pointless and a step backward. Should not prioritize pretty over functional. Thumbnails are pointless, convey zero information, use up critical screen space, and actually make functions more difficult to find and use. I use Windy primarily on an iPhone and secondarily on an iPad. Screen real estate is critical.

Note that the plume of SO2 is based on the total amount of this gas in a column from ground to the top of atmosphere. Reason why it is expressed in mg/m2, so it is not at ground level
