Hi Ivo and team, I've only had an hour to play with the app so far but I think it's a huge progress jump in UX. Thanks!!!

I've not seen any loss of functionality or detail that some people mentioned - things just moved to a new or more intuitive menu. Might take people a couple of hours use to find what they are used to and learn where it is now. Nobody likes that type of change initially, but I think what you guys have done here is fantastic. I'll update later. Great job!

Edit: everyone had their own reasons to use this app. Mine is I fly quadcopters. The wind bar and rain drops in the widget quickly let's me see when suitable flying days are coming. Love it.

Using 12.34 but still see the issues updating the widget. Sometimes location cannot be found, other time the refresh wheel in the top right of widget just remains spinning. Need to remove and add widget again to address the issue.
Sometimes I note the temperature is way off compared to reality. It's just a case of the app hasn't refreshed correctly.
Love the app. When widget issues solved, it will be the best. :)

Love the update. Map update looks sharp and more clarity. Love the menu system. App is my favourite and would gladly pay or donate towards it. Really fantastic work all. Thank you!

See this often on the widget. Surely the widget should always display the last successful retrieval rather than this?

My widget works, but it only shows 4 days since the last update. It used to show 5 days. Is this by design?

How often does widget update automatically and can it be configured. I noticed sometimes my temperature is wrong (afternoon still showing morning temp) so I hit refresh and it's updated. Should it update automatically every hour?

The image shows the same location information within the app and from the widget. The rain drops look in different hours though?

I use a VPN and the widget now often finds my location as London(VPN location) even though I'm physically in Dublin. When I click refresh on the widget it immediately finds the right area of Dublin.
This never happened in the last year. It's only started this week since either the app was updated or my phone was updated to Android 11. I have enabled all location permissions for the app so not sure why this is happening.

@idefix37 thanks! That actually makes perfect sense.

Another issue I noticed is that the widget on one of my phone screens is stuck in a refresh loop. The refresh icon constantly spinning. I have the widget on another page on the phone and it's fine. You click refresh and it refreshes and stops spinning. Not sure how this one got stuck in the loop like this. I removed it and added it again to resolve.

@mcgon I uninstalled and reverted to 44.1.2 which works correctly

Yeah I spoke too soon. Problem is back. Widget won't open app. I'll just wait for an update. :(

@verminal I also left beta! Widget still didn't work for me on standard. Updating the app "Android Device Policy" fixed the issue for me... 🙏👍

I found the solution.

My phone just did some app updates and now windy widget works again and opens the app instantly. I checked the updates to see what fixed this. There was an update called "Android Device Policy". It was only available this morning, not yesterday. If you update it, the widget world again.

Was working fine up until today. Not sure what's changed. Have uninstalled and reinstalled. Have restarted phone. Clicking widget will not launch app. Just gives a not responding error.
Can still launch manually using app icon. Help.

I'm banging my head against the wall here? Hope do I look at my current alerts and change them?

It's not intuitive at all. I'm sure I did it before on the app. Can't find it now. Please can someone screenshot some help.

@mcgon this was to do with airplane mode. If you put the phone in airplane mode at night the app behaves weird in the morning when you turn off airplane mode. I restarted it and the granularity is back.
