    • Disturbed Weather

I recently sailed from Panama to French Polynesia, during the course of the trip Windy often showed areas, gaps, holes, fingers in Blue (light wind) with the surrounding area relatively consistent wind shown in Green.
When in these Blue areas it was most often that the wind and weather was quite disturbed, with squalls, stronger winds, directional changes and rain / storms
Am I interpreting this correctly as I am about to start the remainder of the pacific crossing and see several areas like this around Tahiti in the coming forecast

    • RE: How to Recognise a Trough

@idefix37 so the trough is not marked on windy but identified by the elongated nature of the pressure line?

What about warm / cold front ?
      Thanks
