      @Medea It would be suitable to provide a screenshot to pinpoint exactly the area where you observed these wind anomalies. From Panama to Tahiti you cross the equator. In the equatorial region the doldrums (ITCZ in more scientific words) is an area where winds are generally very weak but where strong convection generates typical convective phenomena.. See more information in this article and this thread. ECMWF model cannot provide the precise location of these thunderstorms. Only 1km-resolution models could do that, but none is available in this area. However the Satellite layer, in infra view, provides the location of the current storms but not their future position.       @Medea Fronts are not shown in Windy because they are not plotted by weather models but by meteorologists.
