Bug Report - URL Format for automatically placing markers no longer works
I wrote a routine that automatically generates a windy view from a lat lon, zooming into a certain area and automatically places a marker at the location. With the latest update, the previously supported method of:
https://www.windy.com/?36.908,-93.049,8,marker
no longer functions. The map zooms in to the correct coordinates, and with the correct zoom level, but a marker is not displayed.
The only way I can get a marker to display is if I use the URL to open up the forecast panel, which I'd like to avoid.

URL for marker/pin no longer working.
I use the following URL to place a marker:
https://www.windy.com/?32.250,-119.833,7,marker
And nothing appears. The webpage is going to the correct coordinates, but there is no marker being placed. Has the URL syntax changed?

RE: Why is Wind speed in hurricanes so wrong?
@Siff Where do you get the real data from for everywhere on the planet? It's easy to say you have real data in somewhere like the USA, which is covered by hundreds of observation points, along with upper air measurements taken twice daily. What about everywhere else?
How do you verify a forecast for a location which there is no credible observation data? Remote sensing can help, but it only goes so far.

Marker not dropping with URL syntax
Figure I would try this again, since I never got any sort of reply last time.
The URL for automatically placing a marker no longer works as advertised.
For example: https://www.windy.com/?5.167,115.278,7,marker no longer places a marker on the screen. The map loads in the correct region according to the specified lat/lon, and the appropriate zoom (in this case 7), but the pin does not get placed.
What I'm noticing then is a local forecast box in the upper left corner (the link I'm using is not local). I click on the map and no marker is placed, but the local forecast box disappears. I click again (after the forecast box disappears), and the marker finally places. Toggling the forecast box off in settings does not fix the problem.

RE: URL parameters & markers question
I submitted this issue months ago, and no one seems to care.

Anyone know if the marker URL is ever coming back?
That was a feature I really liked. You'd be able to save a URL and jump straight to a zoomed in region, with the marker pin already in place (or in my case, create a URL with VBA in an excel file). Like this: https://www.windy.com/?40.250,-110.830,8,marker. As you can see, the zoom/region works, but their is no marker until you place it yourself, which kind of defeats the purpose.
This has been broken for about 2 months, I think, and I've submitted a bug report and been totally ignored. I can't find anywhere if the syntax has changed, hence why I'm making a post about it.

RE: URL for marker/pin no longer working.
Still awaiting some kind of feedback on this. My organization uses Windy a lot for the sole functionality of the weather picker, and that functionality has been significantly reduced.

Bumping this as it's been 7 days with no response.

RE: Windy brings new Waves-radar and additional isolines
Wind wave = wave generated by wind
Swell = wave that has moved outside its area of generation
At any given state, there may be multiple series of waves at your location. The wind could be blowing very hard at your location, creating wind waves. A strong cold front could be moving across the ocean, generating waves that will later arrive at your location and in the opposite direction of the wind waves. A third, or fourth swell could also be present.

RE: Help us to test Windy version 13.00
This killed the URL formatting to automatically bring up a marker:
https://www.windy.com/?36.908,-93.049,8,marker
Just zooms into the region defined by the coordinates, but no marker pin is displayed on the map. This was an EXTREMELY useful feature that I hope has not been removed. I'll submit a separate bug report.

RE: Is there any way to build a route and import it to windy.com?
Bumping this, as it's been a while. Has there been any thought to add this to the API?
Like ingest a delimitted text file containing points, then have the windy route/distance tool automatically place the points based on the data in the file.
