Hey, calling other users names isn’t helpful. The radar idea itself is actually great, it’s just not executed very well, and the interface could definitely be improved. They could even add an option to enable or disable the layer. There’s no need to insult people. And honestly, if you don’t renew or recommend the app, do you really think the admins would care that much?

RE: New Model Sources
Honestly, I wouldn’t get my hopes up. Users have been requesting high-resolution models for Switzerland and Italy for years, and every time the answer is that they will ‘consider’ it, but nothing ever happens. Meanwhile, new features that feel unnecessary get added, and useful ones sometimes get removed for no clear reason. So I’m not very confident they’ll introduce these models anytime soon.

RE: Snow flakes on radar
It’s not a fail. They can just make it better. Or give us the option to turn off it. In general it’s useful

RE: New radar overlay displaying snowfall
Hello, is it coming for the app also? Thanks

RE: Hourly Precipitation Forecast (Rain layer)
Hello @Suty do you have any news about it? Thanks

RE: Hourly Precipitation Forecast (Rain layer)
Exactly! It would be nice to have it on the map as well.

RE: Hourly Precipitation Forecast (Rain layer)
Hello,
I can see hourly precipitation data on the following services:• Ventusky: Both the app and the website display precipitation every hour (1h) for models like ICON-CH and ICON-D2, AROME.
• Meteologix.com: This website also shows hourly precipitation forecasts for the same models.
Regarding ecmwf only meteologix offer the hourly precipitation data. But I’m more interested in the high resolution models. :)
I hope this helps.

RE: Hourly Precipitation Forecast (Rain layer)
Hello!
I’m attaching a photo of what I mean. On other weather apps, with the same models, it’s possible to see precipitation data either hourly or every 3 hours. I just wanted to understand why this isn’t possible on Windy.

Hourly Precipitation Forecast (Rain layer)
Hello,
I'm writing to ask about the precipitation layer. I've noticed that the hourly forecast is only available in 3-hour increments. Is there a specific reason why a 1-hour option isn't implemented?
I believe that having an hourly precipitation forecast would be a very useful feature, and I was wondering if you have any plans to add this in the future.
Thank you! :)

RE: Satellite images
Hello Jari,
I would like to know if there is a specific reason why the GeoColor satellite layer hasn’t been implemented on Windy yet, or if you are planning to add this feature in the future.
Honestly, for an app of Windy’s level, it feels quite surprising not to have this option, especially considering that even the most basic weather apps offer something similar.
I don’t mean to sound rude, and I apologize if I do, but I truly believe that a GeoColor satellite layer combined with Windy’s animations would be spectacular.
I’m not suggesting replacing the current satellite view, but rather offering both options, as this has been a highly requested feature from users for many years now.
Thank you very much.

RE: GeoColor satellite imagery competition - zoom.earth & Ventusky
Yes, exactly. I believe that a geo-color satellite layer is a must-have feature in any weather app, especially one at Windy’s level. There are so many features in this app, many of which seem of little use to the average user, while more important and truly functional ones, like the geo-color satellite, are left out. I’ll never understand why, and we’re never given an explanation.

RE: Request to add Italian ICON-2I, MOLOCH Models
I agree. The app should ideally provide a high-resolution forecast model like MOLOCH for Italy. Of course, it would be fair to have a high-resolution model for every country, but I understand that the costs would be enormous. However, Italy has a very complex orography and is located in a strategic and meteorologically interesting position in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.

RE: GeoColor satellite imagery competition - zoom.earth & Ventusky
I agree they should implement the GeoColor satellite. Would be amazing combined with the windy satellite animation. @Suty can I ask you why you don’t want to add it? I’m sure it’s a feature many users would love to have.

RE: What’s happening with the wind forecast for Corsica and Sardinia ?
You should also specify the location where you observed this anomaly. Do you mean in general in Sardinia, or in a specific place? Sardinia has a complex orography, so winds can vary significantly even just a few kilometers apart.

RE: Hourly data for Rain, thunder layer
Thanks for your reply! However, what I meant is that I’d like to see hourly precipitation steps directly on the map, not just in the forecast panel. Thanks anyway :)

Hourly data for Rain, thunder layer
Hi, when using the ‘Rain, thunder’ layer, I can only see precipitation data every 3 hours. Is it possible to view it hourly? If not, could this feature be added for some models like ICON or AROME? Thanks!

RE: Custom color scale changes map background to white
I found the solution, thanks!
Thanks to your screenshot, I realized that the issue with the white map background after applying a custom color scale was caused by the color assigned to the zero value.
In my case, I had set 0 to a very light color close to white, which made the entire map background appear white.
I changed it to a dark gray instead, and now the map background looks just like the default again.
I just realized what you meant in the other topic 😂
Really appreciate your help

Thanks. I did it. I hope people can see the pictures. I just shared the link of my screenshots

RE: Custom color scale changes map background to white
This is a screenshot. I just took two random pictures. But you can see that the Europe one is white (I changed the rain color scale) and the second picture is the one with the default color scale (grey/dark background) . I’m using an iPhone 16 pro max running iOS 18.5. Windy version is 46.04.
