    • Suggestions for future product development

Maybe this has been brought up before and, if so, my apologies. I have 3 items that might be of interest for future upgrades to an already wonderful site.

      1. Any plans on providing vorticity products to your current suite of products? Vorticity is such a useful concept in meteorology and forecasting with regards to intensity of cyclones and locations of storm development.

      2. Can you please move the on/off button for contours to the main page alongside the sea-level pressure on/off button? It would be much more useful on the main page when comparing upper-level charts and surface features.

      3. Any plans to add water vapor imagery to the satellite menu?

      Thanks,

      Matt

    • Selection of Pressure, Height Coordinates, Temperature

I enjoy the Windy app and use it just about every day. I like to look at Upper Level Charts as well as Sea Level. On the Sea Level Wind chart, there is a button(?) which lets you turn on and off the SLP isolines easily. However, when you go up in the atmosphere, say 500 hPa, you have to dig down inside the App to find a button that lets you change to Geopotential Height, Temperature Isolines, etc. Wouldn't it be more efficient to bring that functionality to the Wind display so one could easily switch to Geopotential Height when increasing altitude?

      Just a thought...

    • GEOPOTENTIAL CONTOUR INTERVALS

The upper level geopotential height contours are too broad. This gives the display a "washed out" appearance. Typically, 500 mb heights are contoured at 60 meters. This provides definition to the product and makes the trofs and ridges stand out. I am not sure if you can do this, but any work at narrowing the contour interval would definitely help.

    • Zoom Feature on Mac OSX

This has been an ongoing problem for my system. I am running Windy on my 27" Mac OS Ventura 13.7.1. What happens is that the Zoom feature using my Apple mouse makes the display jump back and forth magnifying, then demagnifying the display. The display never stops where I want it to. I have to use the Zoom +/- on the Display to get what I really want. This has happened for at least 1.5 - 2 years, so it might not be caused by the OSX. Then again, maybe it is as it could have been introduced with a prior release and has persisted through updated OSX releases.

Has anyone experienced this problem? Is there a fix I am unaware of? Are Windy Developers working on this? Is this a mouse problem on my end? I would appreciate any feedback that might help.

I realize this as an annoyance to me and might be an isolated case. In fact, I would rather see an effort to get vorticity maps on the Windy platform.

    • RE: Zoom Feature on Mac OSX

@Suty Hi, I use the Magic Mouse but I have never done the double click. I have been using my index finger to slide up (zoom out) and down (zoom in) and that is where the trouble is. Double click works better for zooming in, but how do you zoom out? Thanks for help.

Greatest thing since sliced bread. Are there plans for velocity information, echo tops, etc.?

    • RE: Testers wanted: Weather radar USA!

Yesterday, Tuesday 5 September, the display was great and useful. Today, not so much, as it appears you lost your radar feed to the server. But, when it works, it is very useful.
