    • Hurricane Dorian Overlay

User @pavelneuman shared kml file with you Hurricane Dorian (The NHC's Adv. #29)

      This is great.
Please continue this overlay of NHC track and forecast cone. Can it be automated for all named storms, hurricanes and cyclones? It really helps me understand and visualize the storm, especially when other layers are turned on, such as wind accumulation.

    • RE: Tide Forecast on Windy

Great Idea. As of March 3, I see lots of little boat icons that correspond with NZ tide stations.
But I see no data when I click on any particular tide station: no tide table, no harmonic graph, and no current info either.

Boat icon is the same as was used for currents. Will these now be displayed together? Or are currents to be abandonded?

      In Whangarei NZ.

    • RE: Windy launches Route Planner

Very good. A great addition to the distance planner.
As a sailor, I would prefer wind direction to default to absolute, or north up. But not a priority, once I know how to make setting.
I like the default forecast all along the route defined for one specific moment that I choose on timeline. Moving forecast along the route depends on accurate guess of vmg, which of course changes with wind speed and sea state and accurate boat polars. Very complex and maybe best left to weather routing apps such as Predictwind and qtvlm.

    • 5640 Line at 5000 hPa (mb)

Please consider adding a bolded line at 5640 meter geopotential height on the 5000 hPa (mb) charts. This line is important for marine navigation and weather routing because most storms track 300 to 600 nautical miles north or south (towards the poles) of this line. See: https://vos.noaa.gov/MWL/dec_08/milibar_chart.shtml

@Francfo Check out qtvlm, open source weather router. You can save grib file scenarios, run alternative routings, and save them all.

    • RE: Want to turn off all highway cameras

@petra-pik I wholeheartedly support options to toggle on-off video and/or photo images, like highway cameras, to save data downloads over preciously expensive, finite, and often shaky internet connections. I use Windy extensively for voyage planning by sail, often from locations where internet is not yet first-world hi-bandwidth.
