@Suty thanks for getting back to me so quickly, I did but have deleted these for the moment and still having the problem. Although if I long press on the app icon to get to the android based options it does show "updating widget" as a notification.

I have recently started getting a Windy isn't responding pop up with an option of shutting down or waiting.

I've deleted the widget but still having the same issue, and also having a fair amount of battery drain front the app. First time in years I've had the issue, got a new phone around a month ago but this problem is from the last two weeks or so.
