    • RE: Add model over North America

Here are some scores for the Global Deterministic Prediction System (GDPS) - 15 km resolution and Regional Deterministic Prediction System (RDPS) - 10 km of the Canadian model (CMC - Canadian Meteorological Center) https://weather.gc.ca/verification/index_e.html

Here is the High-Resolution Deterministic Prediction System - 2.5 km technical note: https://collaboration.cmc.ec.gc.ca/cmc/CMOI/product_guide/docs/tech_specifications/tech_specifications_HRDPS_5.1.0_e.pdf

Here is the information on how to gather the model data. https://eccc-msc.github.io/open-data/msc-data/readme_en/

Again the HRDPS would be a great addition for Windy over NOAM.

      Thanks

    • Add model over North America

      Hello dear Windy,

The Canadian Meteorological Center runs a hi-resolution regional determinist prediction system (HRDPS) at 2,5 km over the whole of North America 4 times a day (00Z,06Z,12Z,18Z). The model output is available and free.

Would you consider adding this data to your system. This would provide more detailed info than NAM and covering a larger area specially ovr northern regions.

You will find data access information here: https://eccc-msc.github.io/open-data/msc-datamart/readme_en/

Yes, this is a very good model. Will try to forward evaluation scores. The Canadian meteorological center runs a global model at 15 km resolution (GDPS) that compares advantageously with other major NWP centers of the world. The high-resolution configuration runs in a nested grid over grater NOAM.

      Great!

This model issues forecast out to 48 hours. The higher resolution helps better wind forecast over mountain regions.

Please do not hesitate to ask for more info.
