Could you please include on option to change the default map layer on startup of the Android app ? Currently it always starts on the Wind layer however I don't really use that one and would prefer if I could choose my own default layer when the app opens.

Android app default map layer.

RE: Android app default map layer.
Wow okay, love the arrogance. Was just a suggestion mate. In that case, going along with your summation of my question the app should really have all the non-Wind related layers removed and just show the wind only

RE: Android app default map layer.
Yes, I understand the name of the app however with many other non-wind related layers in the app it immediately broadens the scope of the whole thing beyond just it's name. If you can't have a default option for whatever reason then how about just allowing the app to remember the last used layer.

Android App Isobar option
This is a great addition to the Android app however it doesn't stay on by default. Every time I open the app I need to re-enable the Isobar option

Default weather models
Can you please include an option to save your favourite / preferred weather model. I need to change everytime I start the app. Would make sense to have an option for this.
Awesome app by the way.
Thanks

RE: Android App Isobar option
@ivo Just noticed that the Isobar option for this is still turning itself off even with the latest version

Android App zooming
Zooming has become very "jerky" with the latest update. It used to be nice and smooth when pinch zooming but now moves almost in "steps" and is hard to get a nice precise zoom in or out at times.

Android app Weather picker issue
Can you please fix the issue with the weather picker not staying on your location when zooming in or out on the map. Also would make sense to have the dot that indicates your location stay on the screen after you select the weather picker, at the moment the location dot disappears once you select the weather picker option.
It seems to work fine on the website and it used to work on the Android app until the latest update. I've also not heard anything back about having the Isobar option stay enabled. Currently it keeps disabling itself each time the app is opened.

Pinned layer sorting (Android app.)
Would be great if you could make it possible to sort the pinned layers. Something like a long tap and drag setup, that way you could move the more commonly used pinned layers to the top of the list for example.

RE: Time on detailed forecast chart (Android app)
@Suty said in Time on detailed forecast chart (Android app):
@orrcra Okay, so the problem is the forecast starting in the beginning of the timeline, instead of actual time in your location? Understood, and I will check our latest version of the app which will be released in these days.
UPDATE: This issue is still in the latest version of the app. I already forwarded this to our colleagues for the fix.Any movement on this fix ? There have been a few updates since my first post/

RE: Time on detailed forecast chart (Android app)
@Suty at the bottom of the screen where the timeline is it would make more sense that the closest hour to the current local time is shown as the left most time.
For example I took this screenshot at 830am local time however 12am through to 7am is shown which is now in the past and mostly irrelevant and to see the forecast for the current time onwards I'd need to scroll across to the right to get the times from say 9am onwards (the closest hour).
The red dotted line is showing the current time on the graph so the app does know what the current local time is (not visible in the screenshot).

Time on detailed forecast chart (Android app)
The current hour in the forecast chart should be the first one shown on the chart. For example is 8am where I am but when I view the chart the time starts at midnight and I need to scroll across to the current hour.
Yes, it's a minor issue but also one that could be simple to fix. Most other weather apps with a timeline or chart start at the current time.

Android app forecast chart times
Whenever you open the forcecast chart on the Android app the timeline always shows midnight as the first option even if it's for example 2pm and therefore you need to scroll across to find your current time.
It would make much more sense if the timeline started at the nearest hour (where the red dotted line is that indicates the current time).

RE: Using AI (ChatGPT) to Interpret Windy Data – Has Anyone Tried This Approach?
I've played around with both Gemini and ChatGPT but I've just taken screenshots from Windy and then asked them to analyse what they see and what sort of weather can be expected. Can be quite interesting.
How exactly do you do it ? Do you mind sharing the prompt you type in ?
