Is there any way to go back to a text list of weather types instead of the graphical picture icons? Going back to the text list with the little icon symbols would be better and easier to read. The mini screen photos are more confusing and harder to pick out what I want to see..

Route planner questions
Of late I have been trying to convince the US National Weather Service and the Aviation Weather Center, to embrace the concept of 7-day VFR weather planning. They are reluctant to do so to say the least. I am disappointed with them because they have a fantastic Aviation Graphical Weather planning tool that allows you to easily add your route of flight, and keep that route visible while using all of the features of the other tools. Windy has a similar route planning tool, but it is more difficult to use and while it is open other tools have reduced capabilities.
To be fair, the route planning tool Windy provides does have some capabilities that are improved over the AWC Graphical Weather tool, but there seems to be no way to lock the route on the screen while using the pointer with other tools to spot check the weather at various other points on the map.
To add the route of flight in the AWC Graphical Weather tool, simply open the Route window and add the NAS identifiers in order, separated by commas. An example is KCJR, 3G4, 44G, 3TE, 2E8. Once the Route is displayed simply close the route window and the visible route remains while any other tool is used. In Windy the route must be added by clicking on each point on the map, in order, but first you need to find each location and save it to favorites so you can can see where it is to click on. This route cannot be locked on the map and while the route is displayed the pointer cannot be used with any of the other tools. I find this to be a disadvantage, because I want to know details of the weather outside of the route to determine if route encroachment of deteriorating weather is likely.
Having said all of that, I will likely be using Windy for route planning more often because it is of value as it is. I do wish I could use the pointer with the other tools while the route is visible on the screen.

RE: Pilot questions
@rittels
I figured out how to create the flight plan. Ibsee the weather pointer is used for this, but can the weather pointer ho back to its previous function? -
RE: Pilot questions
@rittels
I have loaded the plug in with your example and loaded the plug in by itself. How do you create a flight plan? There doesn't seem to be a way to do that on the screen. Are there any directions for its use? -
Pilot questions
I am a private pilot in the US and am new to Windy. I am trying to figure out how to use Windy for 10-VFR weather planning. I have been doing this a long time using a different tool from NOAA, where I compare the POP12, expected weather, Temp and Dewpoint every 3 or 6 hours over 7 days to determine the liklihood of good VFR weather for my trip and return trip. (See 7-day VFR Weather planning at AirFactsJournal.com to get more detail.)
I have the airports in windy highlighted and they mostly appear as green circles, but some of them are different colors. What do the different colors indicate? They do not appear to change color with weather.
I have barely experimented with the route tool, but how do you get the route to stay in place as you look at different weather data over your route? It seems that I have to leave the route tool, which erases the route to look at different data. Is thare a way to display the route contiuously as I look at different aspects of weather data?

RE: Tutorial or user help?
@korina Good morning. Thank you for replying to my question. I am pretty busy for the next few days but I have lots of questions I'd like to ask. May I ask you? May I send you a couple of screen pics to help illustrate my questions? Thank you in advance for your help.

Tutorial or user help?
I am interested in setting up so I can see certain forecast data populated on the map and change as I scroll forward in time. The numbers I like are % probability of precip, temp & dewpoint, cloud bases and tops. I am having difficulty getting the information I like to use to estimate my good flying days and locations.
Is there a tutorial that can help me understand how to get the information I want?
Thanks in advance
