1. For me, and maybe others, there are others, one specific change has forced me to interact uncomfortably with the screen. By moving the ‘layers’ selection to the bottom right, my finger and hand have to move bottom-right to click. Holding my phone horizontally, I use my thumb to click the poorly-placed button. That movement is the single most difficult gesture for my thumb. It actually hurts. I’ll try another way to hold my phone, but still…

2. Using satellite pictures instead of simply text to choose layers not only wastes precious screen real estate but requires more hand movement, not less. Please offer an option to turn off the pictures. I really don’t need them to know what I’m choosing.


Nevermind… I’m hearing lightning now. It’s my wife’s favorite part of the app.

Are there still lightning strike sounds available? I’m using the latest app on the latest iOS and have turned on everything that seems relevant. Sound and Show Lighting switches are on.

Any suggestions?

I have my settings in the app set to show Fahrenheit, but the Home Screen widget only shows Celsius.

How can I fix this? I’m using iPad OS 17.7.

@Ftjwinfs This is a good explanation of what’s not been changed for the better in the new UI.
I heartily agree, and wish there was an option to show text only for changing layers.
I don’t need or want satellite imagery taking up unnecessary screen real estate.
