i see lots of posts about adding surface analysis to windy but i dont see any response from the windy team,. fronts, occlusions , pressure centre high low etc would be super helpful and a great addition to windy. i dont see that layer, is it available or comtemplated

airgram
Hi is it possible to increase the contrast of the temperature and altitude numbers on the airgram cross section...the white numbers are really tough to read on the colored background. Thank you

I am a moderator on this forum, but I am not part of the Windy team. I am like you and like the other moderators only Windy users. The persons who are part of Windy are generally identified as Administrator here.
Despite that, I know Windy's position on the issue of Surface Analysis. Fronts are drawn by meteorologists and weather models are not capable of drawing these front lines. Windy does not employ meteorologists.
Windy could try to get (if the data is available) the plotting from the NOAA, the MetOffice, Meteo France, the DWD… etc. But I can’t imagine a composite image of these surface analysis. It is quite easy to check the surface analysis issued by these different weather centers to understand that this would be a real headache, and probably really impossible. Especially since Windy aims for global coverage.
You may say that there are apps displaying front lines, based on mysterious algorithms but on what basis are these lines plotted? One day may be, the AI will replace meteorologists.thank you for the follow up. all good , I can get all of the surface frontal info from the FAA , NOAA and awws sites. thank you.

If you explore the multiple discussion threads on the issue of surface and front analysis, you will see why Windy does not offer this type of analysis.Ok thanks for the heads up but i read through allot of the posts . Since you are a moderator what tag does an actual windy employee or staff person use to identify their posts. im never sure if im communicating with a staff , owner, or employee or someone who only had second hand info through the conversation here. Ill go back a reread for the clue as to why they wont post surface analysis . as i said as a pilot it is helpful. there are lots of other products online that have that info including faa ,noaa and awws site but i was curious. thank you in advance. love windy , but here is a question
It would be great if there were a layer selection that would add the surface analysis and frontal boundaries on the map. . it would be great to see frontal systems on the map
Is that something that can be added?

wind in cardinal direction
can someone point out where I can get the specific wind direction? there is a lot of info showing it from a direction ie nw, s, etc and on the map or on many of the pages but I want a specific cardinal direction in wind-true.
what is the best tool for this , I see that when highlighting a taf or metar on an airport I can get it but I want this info for a random location. the Meteogram does not show this -
meteogram layer on selection from map
On the Meteogram layer selected from the map, there are vertical bars at the bottom representing precipitation and or convection. Is there a legend somewhere where these are detailed and described, I would like to understand and interpret these vertical times ... please let me. know! peter. Screenshot 2023-10-24 at 19.09.18.png

a few graphical questions and aviation ifr freezing levels
2 quick questions.
- what is the blue to pinkish line supposed to represent that goes through the temp section of the meteog. ( temp section ) . it appears to just be graphical representation of the temp gradient and depth of temp at any given time. is this correct. ( its at the top and seems to go from purple> blue> pink ).
2 what component of windy/ graph is the best graphical representation available from the picker or other to determine the freezing level ( ifr ) . vs time .
