Here is a post explaining the different overlays Windy.com offers.
https://community.windy.com/post/3789Highlights: the vibration and sound are linked to lightning strikes (as far as I know). When you have the "Weather radar" layer activated your device will make a sound or vibrate when lightning is detected.
I would utilize the other layers to help predict overnight precipitation. Try using the "Rain, thunder" layer - this layer visualizes different guidance models for your area. You can select the different models yourself and compare what they are telling you.
Hope that helps!
Thanks for your comments. Yes, I use the rain and clouds overlays, as well as the various weather model predictions, to determine if I'll bother with setting up my telescope. I find Windy an extremely powerful app to help me do this.
