When I saw windy had tides I imagined you would show tidal patterns like ocean currents - and it would totally revolutionise our understanding about how tides interact with the moon, sun, and land masses. Showing tide stations like web cams is way, way below the mind blowing visualisation of Windy. I really hope you will come through for us soon.

David, I am not a pilot and I never looked for the cloud base before but your rather nasty post about my favorite weather site made me kind of curious.
It took me 10 seconds to find the cloud base height on the new site.
Here is how you do it.

1. click on the < icon on the lower part of the menu. A tool tip will show up that says, "show/add more overlays" Click on the icon and a new menu slides out. Now, this is tricky. You can click on the tab on top where is says recommended for flying and turn on all the best overlays for pilots. Or, leave it with the default "All".
2. If you have left all of the overlays showing count down to the 7th icon from the top that says "cloud base" and click on the little on-off icon to turn on the cloud base overlay. That puts the cloud base icon on the menu :-)
3. OK, now, on the bottom of the screen, on the right, you'll see a color scale showing flight rules. If you don't like flight rules on the scale point to the scale and you'll see a little tool tip that says "click to change scale" - click on it to see the colors as meters. You can also change the colors to suit what you would like. Just above the scale there is a note: "about cloud base" . You might want to read that.
4. Click on the airport or area of particular interest to you and you'll see the exact cloud base height at that location.

Got it to work by first clicking in the extreme right of the window size box, click-dragging to select the non visible text (maybe too small a font size?) then hitting delete. Then entering the window size and clicking on the enter key, did that for both width and height and it entered the correct window size and coordinates in the code box. The copy to clipboard also worked. So to fix the problem you need to be sure the existing text for window width and height is visible in the box and maybe having another button to activate the script. If I do not adjust the window size the code does not use the relocated window coordinates. But if I also click on the show marker in the middle of the map box it does enter the correct coordinates into the code box.

Tried the widget script in Firefox and it failed, froze and crashed Firefox when I tried to enter the window size. I tried leaving the default window size and found that when I reset the coordinates in the window the code in the code box did not change (stayed exactly where the widget window opened - automatically based on my IP location).
On IE Edge leaving the window size blank and relocating the map coordinates the code box did not change the lat lon. Tried to fill in the window size, entered 400 and 200 - the typing did not show anything in the size box window but the code in the embed code box showed 640050 pixels. So it must have had 650 in the box (but not visible) and when I entered the 400 it inserted that into the existing 650 pixels. The coordinates then did change in the code box. But it all froze when I clicked on copy the code to the clipboard.

David, the update is spectacular on Firefox and Chrome and Internet Explorer on my computer running Windows 10.
Click on the < icon on the right side of the screen. A new menu options display pops out and you can select whatever overlays you want (including cloud base). Or just click on the "flying" tab on top to see the menu selection recommended for pilots (it includes cloud base).
When you select clouds, look down on the overlay menu and you'll see the options to show low, medium,high or all clouds. It is a vast improvement over the old display. Play with it for 10 minutes and you'll be flying happy again.

I take that back, it does compare OK with rainfall, it's just harder to see the lighter rainfall areas when combined with the cloud cover.

I noticed the cloud cover overlay has a scale showing mm, similar to the rainfall scale but it doesn't really compare directly with the rainfall shown on the rain overlay. What is the mm scale supposed to be for re cloud cover?

Totally love the new WindyTY ! But I had to change all the colors on the sea surface temperature (good that I can). Normally our minds associate red with hot, white or blue with icy cold. The default colors are exactly the opposite. 30 degree sea surface temperatures are cyclone hotspots so I have those as bright red. 28C is the tipping point for cyclone formation so that is lavender. 24 is in the yellows and below 20 are shades of chilly blue grading down to 0 degrees as white. Looks much more intuitive and, at the moment here in New Caledonia, positively frightening.
