I absolutely love Windy!! Thank you so much for everything!
The only thing that annoys me regularly is that I can't zoom out of the map using only one hand. So many map apps allow to zoom in and out by double tap and hold, then slide thumb up (zoom out) or down (zoom in). Could this please be introduced to Windy as well? At the moment one can only zoom out with pinch to zoom, which basically requires two hands.
Thanks!

Zoom out of map one-handed
The only thing I am consistently missing in this brilliant app is a way to zoom out when I am holding my phone in one hand.
E.g. I have my phone in my left hand and equipment in my right hand, I am studying the radar map and zoom in for more detail (double tap with my thumb). Then I want to zoom out again - no chance. There's no minus button, no double tap and slide - I either have to use both hands or awkwardly manage a pinch gesture with the same hand I am holding the phone.
This addition would be a huge highlight! Thanks for considering!

RE: How to activate your Live Storm and Heavy Rain Alerts
@idefix37 Thanks for the response! That's exactly what I would have expected, but on my Pixel 8 Pro v46.1.0, I am still getting alerts that don't match my current location. Just now "Heavy rain likely to start in the next hour" with this screenshot. The alert matches my favourite location further west (where indeed I was this morning), but the map clearly shows my current location in the east.

RE: Understanding the Compare Forecast Feature in Windy.com
Living in Vienna, Austria, my standard model is ECMWF for a longer-term overview, and ICON-D2 for maximum accuracy in the short term.

Suggest adding one-finger zoom
Like in Windy Maps and other mapping apps. One-finger zoom as well as pinch to zoom. Would be great!! :)

RE: How to activate your Live Storm and Heavy Rain Alerts
@idefix37 Yes, but not that far "in the next hour". I am certain I am receiving these alerts for the wrong place. Specifically probably for Salzburg, although I am now in Vienna - both in Austria. I have received about three more of these alerts since I last wrote - none of them made sense for my current location, but they matched the radar situation at the other location. So far, I've tried clearing cache, which hasn't helped.

RE: Suggest adding one-finger zoom
@seabee-0 Of course one can zoom in already with a double tap. But one can't zoom out. Double tap and then swipe up and down to zoom out and in. This is the only thing I am still missing in this amazing app!

RE: How to activate your Live Storm and Heavy Rain Alerts
Are these alerts supposed to work for my exact current location or for my saved "favorites"? At the moment I seem to be getting alerts for all of my three saved favorites - which is confusing when there is heavy rain approaching one of them, but the radar is completely clear where I am actually located.

Make radar forecast optional
I welcomed the introduction of radar forecast, since I'm sure lots of users were missing this option - and it's a great animation and implementation.
However, as a more scientifically-minded user I would actually prefer to deactivate the feature for myself. I usually move the slider back and forth to analyze how precipitation is moving and developing, and mentally extrapolate from there. I find it harder to do that now, because I have to keep a close eye on the slider to check that I don't go beyond the current time and end up in the red half of the bar.
An option in the Settings to activate/deactivate radar forecast would be perfect for me. I wonder how others see this.

RE: Feature request: one-finger zoom in and out
@Suty WOW! Thank you so much! I just stumbled across this answer accidentally. I hadn't noticed that this is already available on Radar+.

RE: Double tap and hold to zoom
This has actually already been implemented on the Satellite layer, but not the others so far. It was also one of my biggest requests for years, and I'm super happy it got heard! :)
I might add that it is not quite perfect yet, because the first tap sometimes falls on a place name - in that case it is not registered as a double-tap, but the map centres on that place name. For it to work really well, one has to try not to hit a place name in the map.

RE: How to activate your Live Storm and Heavy Rain Alerts
@Suty Thanks! That's right, exact localisation is allowed all the time for Windy, not just when using the app.

RE: Feature request: one-finger zoom in and out
@Erik-VanderWerf This actually happens to me part of the time as well. I think it has to do with accidentally hitting a place name on the map, in which case the first tap is probably interpreted as a "go to" command. Still, it's a great start, and I'm sure this can be worked out.

RE: One-handed map zooming
@jamesishoward Turns out this is now available on the Radar+ layer and will be implemented in other layers as well (https://community.windy.com/post/211250). I'm really happy! :)

RE: Disabling Radar and Satellite forecasts
@WCT I second this 100% and have actually suggested it myself in the past. It is clear from plenty of comments on radar forecasts that a lot of people don't actually understand the difference between the past and future halves of the radar scroll bar - even requesting longer radar "forecasts" of up to a week. A toggle for forecast mode on/off might help clarify that the radar scroll bar is not a continuum of the same concept. I know the current red half of the bar should already clarify that, but even I find it hard to really only stay in the left part of the bar when checking radar. It's one of my few annoyances with Windy that the present radar image isn't better separated from the forecasted image. It is literally a miniscule movement of a finger between a scientific measurement and a probability model..
It's great to hear that there might already be something in development - thanks!

@Suty Same on my Pixel 8 Pro and my partner's Pixel 7a.
