@Suty
I tried also with the stock launcher, the same issue happens. So Nova is not to blame. I've been using Windy and its widgets for a while on this device without issue, so I doubt that there is a background process affecting it. Nevertheless, I've looked again deeply in all settings and looked for system app and could not find additional restriction settings that could affect windy behaviour.
I hope this can be solved soon.
Seb.

RE: Widgets doesn't update.
@Suty Good to read that a solution is coming.
I am looking forward to being able to use Windy again,
I had to completely uninstall the app, because it was still draining battery even without Windy widget on the home screen, while other weather app widget work fine.Thank you.

Hi, I follow on this thread as I experience similar issue. The widget went all dark, with the notification "Updating widget" always present in the taskbar, for hours, and battery usage was abnormally high for windy.
I removed the wigdets from my home screen, but the windy battery usage remained high. The app has all the correct permissions (battery, notifications, location,...)
I tried to reboot the phone, still unable to use the widget. My device is a Gigaset GS5, runing android 12, and I have the nova app Launcher.
Hope this can be solved soon.
Regards

RE: Hourly Widget made wider stop working
@MarkNagy thank you for the advices. I tried to set location to a favourite location instead of current location, and waited several hours but the issue persists. I still need to have it slightly narrower to have the widget working.
The nova launcher allows quite customised home screen grid width setting, mine is set with a 5x5 grid, with subgrid, meaning that it's like a 9x9.
I don't know how windy fetched data for widgets, but my guess is that, when the hourly widget is wider it wants to display more hours forecast, and it tries to fetch data for a longer period of time and the server is limited somehow in is response and therefore the widget sees incomplete data to fill the period of time it wants to display completely... Just guessing.Regards

Hourly Widget made wider stop working
Hi,
I'm hereby reporting a bug with Windy widgets, in particular I experienced it with the hourly forecast widget. For some reason it does not happen with the daily forecast widget. Here below I describe the bug with screenshots. It took me a while to understand how to reproduce the issue.
Apparently, the widget do not handle when I size it above a certain width.FYI, my device is a Gigaset GS5 Lite, running Android 13, and I use the Nova app launcher.
Bug report:
I added two windy widgets to my home screen, 1 daily, 1 hourly:
I could resize the daily forecast widget without issue, it still works.
But if I resize the hourly widget to occupy full screen width, at the next refresh it will display the following error message:
(Translation: "Weather data fetching/update failed")
If I try to refresh another time, the widget becomes empty
If a size it back to the original size, and refresh, it works fine again:
.
After this, I tried also different sizes, when I do smaller, it's fine, and it seems that the widget does not handle when it is resized above a certain size. Because, if I resize it just one step wider, not full width, it still works, like shown below:
