Hi, we have reached out to T-Mobile, we will see how it goes :)

RE: Unable to open Windy webpage. Gets error " Error: Forbidden.Your client does not have permission to get URL / from this server
Hi there, we have contacted Starlink and according to their employees, they have engaged in talks with Google and are working on resolving this blocking issue. It should be fixed within a few days.
Trust me, we are taking this seriously, I almost fell out of the window trying to set up Starlink in our office for testing, but, unfortunately, we are on a different ground station than you guys, so, to our dismay, Windy worked without any problems on it.

Also, please, if you can tell me which specific country you are in, not just the "Mediterranean," it would be great. Furthermore, is the 403 Forbidden webpage branded in any way? Does it, e.g. have Google branding?

RE: Unable to open Windy webpage. Gets error " Error: Forbidden.Your client does not have permission to get URL / from this server
Hi all, we're sorry for the issues you're facing. As you can imagine, it's a bit difficult for us to test this, since we don't have a Starlink antenna located in the Mediterranean. If anyone here is more technically inclined and is facing the blocking, could you try running
curl -v https://windy.comin your terminal and paste the output here, together with your IP, location, etc?Just for the record, we are not blocking anyone intentionally, have no automated blockers enabled and actually make quite a lot of effort to be reachable even in countries like China, which implement blocking measures on their side.

RE: Why is Molodva's capital, Chișinău shown as Kishinev
@S-G-17 Hi, yes, unfortunately, our maps are based on quite old OpenStreetMaps labels. We have an ongoing update project, we hope that within a few months it should be done and the labels should reflect current OpenStreetMap data.

RE: Unable to open Windy webpage. Gets error " Error: Forbidden.Your client does not have permission to get URL / from this server
Hello, thanks for reporting, we're super sorry for the problems. Can you please let us know what specifically is happening? Is the web app not working, or our mobile app? Where are you currently located? Are you getting any specific error? A screenshot would be ideal.
If you are more technical and know what this means, could you use verbose
curlorwgetto fetch any problematic site and paste all headers you are getting in your response? -

RE: Getting Forbidden when trying to access Windy
Hello there! This is extremely weird - we don't use any Windy-wide blocking system where we could block your IP address. Furthermore, as far as I understand, Starlink addresses should be dynamic. Would you be able to let us know about the country you are accessing the system from and give us an example of your IP address, so that we can check internally?

RE: Data not loading
Hello everyone, we are really sorry for the inconvenience you have faced. Our America-based users indeed had problems accessing the forecasts from models other than Meteoblue for the past few hours. It was due to an outage on our storage provider's side. While the problem is not yet fixed, we have redirected requests coming from America to other regions, so everything should work, albeit a little bit slower than you may be used to.

Outage of NOAA satellite data
Due to on outage on our provider's side, satellite data from the GOESEAST and GOESWEST satellites, providing coverage over North and South America. We have no timefame for solution yet.
We are sorry for any inconvenience.

RE: Not updated
Hello, we are very sorry to hear this. We implement some limited workarounds for users who come from countries which suffer from internal and external restrictions. However, these are all on our side. If the app does not work for you, it already means they were ineffective.
We are very thankful to you for reporting this, since it's difficult for us to know if these workaround are working, due to the obvious problems we face trying to get a residential connection from Iran. At this point, I cannot recommend any way of accessing Windy from Iran apart from the filter blockers, etc. that you have described.

RE: Same request but different image
@dmbakker If you want to get air quality data for a specific location, I would recommend using our Point Forecast API and just fetching the data directly.

RE: Starlink enterprise ROAM
Hi, thanks for letting us know about this. Would you be able to tell us a bit more information please? It would be great to know:
- Are the issues permanent or transient? I.e. can you never connect to Windy or are there periods when you can connect.
- Are you only facing problems with the Windy website or are our apps also non-functional when connected to the WiFi network from your Starlink device?
- You mentioned that you are using Starlink Enterprise. I'm not familiar with their offering but it sounds like some kind of business offering. Is it possible that there is some corporate filter or something installed that's blocking our website and the other sites you cannot load?
- When you try going to windy.com, do you see an error message from a browser or does it just keep you waiting indefinitely? If you see an error message, what is it?
- Can you please let us know your IP address? You can see it if you go to, for example, https://ifconfig.co

RE: Same request but different image
Hello there :) Accessing Windy.com programmatically is not exactly a use case we are focusing on. However, we do have some options for developers that could make it easier for you. Could you please tell me more about your use case? I might be able to suggest some ways that would be better for you.

RE: Difficulty seeing particles of animation - not enough contrast
Hello there! We're really glad that you like our app. If you go to app settings (click on the menu button on the bottom right side of the app and pick Settings in the top row), you will see an "Animation of wind" option. If you switch it from "Normal" to "High," a set of sliders will appear. You can customize the size and contrast of the particles there.

Repeated outages of MET-9 (MSG-2) satellite (affecting Russia, Turkey, Arabian peninsula and Central Asia)
Due to Sun co-linearity, MET-9 (aka MSG-2 aka deg41e) satellite data, covering parts of European Russia, Turkey, the Arabian peninsula, and Central Asian states, might be unavailable every morning between 2025-09-11 and 2025-09-24 between approximately 8:15 and 9:15 AM UTC.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this might cause you, the problem is on the side of the satellite, there is nothing we can do about this.
