In a skewt plot is it the altitude at which the dry adiabat intersects the ambient air, or is the the altitude at which the dry adiabat is located 3 degrees centigrade to the right of the ambient air mass, which is the "3-degree spread" and the conventional standard for measuring achievable height in thermal soaring in gliders?
