Nice feature!
I would recommend to use mp4 or webm instead of gif. Video is much smaller with same quality.
That's how most popular "gif" sharing sites do it.

I know it is still work in progress and not sure how you have implemented this functionality.
But can you add feature when you drag and drop file to map area, it automatically parses it.
It is much easier than adding files through file picker.
You can test dragging files (gpx, kml, kmz, geojson) to map in my site: https://gis.ee/meri/
This is not controlled by Windy. Please see the following posts and direct your issue to www.openstreetmap.org instead:

Let's leave political topics out of the Windy forum please and focus on the discussion of weather.
Technical issues happen once in a while.
Even for billion dollar companies like Facebook or Google.
Give some respect for Windy team that provide you free weather data from paid providers.
Excellent new feature
Good job Windy team!
I think relative arrow system is great for quick overview.
Maybe add some expandable rows with numerical data (wind angle, wind direction).
Buttons for changing weather models would be helpful.
I think I have new favourite tool, next to "compare models" feature.
Vote number 1: HIRLAM approx 7.5km resolution
Last time I read about AROME, there was fee for automated data download. Not sure if it is changed.

Don't bother replying.
He is always trolling and making non-sense posts.
On computer use arrow keys for 1hour movements.
Upload your own KML, GPX, GeoJSON file at https://www.windy.com/uploader
Windy API is leaflet.
So you can add your own baselayers at different zoom levels.
OSM tiles are free for most users.

Premium is good way to support developers, so they can give out most features for free.
All those maps are based on Windy API: https://api.windy.com/map-forecast
There are some official examples also available.
My site is tracker.ee, you can copy-paste some code if you want, just don't make visually identical clone :)
Multiple boats (race ended, so no active movements):

Single boat:
https://gis.ee/leaucommotion/
Probably most difficult part is getting data from boat.
For L'Eau Commotion Iridium Go was used.
Iridium Go has automatic reporting service via e-mail.
Server can fetch those e-mail reports and make it usable for Leaflet map (Windy API).
@jakubvrana
maybe this one works: store.get('timestamp')
