    • Side-to-Side Maps

As an avid and daily user of this app, I would like to request a feature where one can check side-to-side any two models for weather parameters for easier comparisons. The idea is inspired by Predictwind, another good forecasting app nowadays. It is available on both smartphone and website view which is interesting as well especially in the Philippines where we check both ECMWF and GFS for the rainy season and typhoon season as well!

I hope you guys can implement something like this in the near future as it can benefit many users for decision-making capabilities.

    • RE: Fahrenheit

      @cefmmanager
Yes, you can. There are two ways:

      1. By clicking the Temperature overlay, simply press the scale/ legend located at the bottom of the map.
      2. Go to Settings>>Temperature>>Celsius / Fahrenheit.

      Hope this helps.

    • Here are my suggestions for Windy
      1. save multiple color scales of different types (Scale A: blue to purple, Scale B: green to red)
      2. change the playback speed of the slider bar
      3. add new map types like that of WeatherLite or Accuweather
      4. new overlays like
        PoP (Probability of Precip.)
        Heat Index
        Lifted Index
        Climate Maps (Tropical Tidbits)
      5. graphs and tables for the most popular forecast overlays like pressure and humidity
      6. reducing the hours for the forecast (Windguru)
      7. alphabetizing the 28 different weather layers
      8. return button after clicking Settings (found after pressing the three-lined bars)

P.S. I'll make a new message once I come up with more suggestions.

      Why I like Windy.com:

      1. Only site without paid content
      2. Stands out for its accuracy
      3. Weather forecast is just 😍😀
      4. chance to change the colors scale
      5. Has a community with the admin, developers,...
      6. Clean and user-friendly interface

What I want for Windy.com in the future:

      1. Graphical interface for the weather parameters (check WeatherBomb)
      2. Light map for a new look
      3. Ability to save multiple palettes for a layer
      4. Ability to alphabetize/ rearrange layers
      5. Ability to combine layers (see MeteoEarth)

    • Lifted Index

Can you add a Lifted Index layer? This is very useful for predicting thunderstorm probability (with the CAPE Index). Big thanks.

BTW, I heard that the GFS 0.25° will be operational anytime soon. When will it be added to your Windyty site?

      @millartyson

      Click Settings>>About these Data.
There you can find the model run, and the time it was updated.

      Hope this helps.

      0_1491717251664_image.jpeg

What you see is Tropical Tidbits(left) and Windytv(right) pressure maps for a possible storm near the PH this week. I noticed that the pressure readings vary, but how did this happen? Appreciate any explanation!

*pressure reading on the TT map is 951 hPa vs. Windytv's 995 hPa

I agree with this, since some cities have smaller fonts than the bigger cities. Such as this case, where one may need to check a specific city or province in the Philippines.
