Because from what I know of California, with its arid, subtropical climate, that’s exactly what you would think about weather, that it’s consistent and predictable, and generally, summer all year round.
The rest of the world that isn’t California in particular, or arid and subtropical, with a gentle ocean breeze cooling things down, experiences weather that is even more extreme and unpredictable than Utah.
I come from the interior of Northern British Columbia, where not only do they fully experience all four seasons (-30 in winter, +30 in summer, etc), but on any given day in spring, you should fully expect to experience them all in one day, or you are a fool.
