@idefix37 , I'm aiming at a (as near as possible) realtime (active/moving) map ... which takes into account the winds and anything else that has influence ... best in 3 different heights (layers) ... that would be the only usefull thing ... the data is available so now it is a question of getting the data-feeds and add it to Windy as good as possible (or not)
I'm shure their is (or will be) enough demand for it. In my opinion (and of many scientists) the Methane is the most important issue.

RE: Methane on map ?
@Solar-Cycles , @idefix37 Here's another one ...a good example of HOW NOT TO DO IT ..this one is useless, slow , no details and 2 weeks behind ... but they got there data somewhere https://pulse.ghgsat.com/

RE: ICOS Implementation Request
@idefix37 The ICOS network is dense enough to get a reliable picture/video of where the Methane cloud is going ... its a question of seeing possibilties instead of difficulties ... Windy is doing a awesome job ... good programmers ... i'm shure they can bring this into life also ...it is important Methane is one of the most important gases when it comes to climate-influences, extreme-weather , accidents, explosions & wildfires ...etc ...etc ... it is really missing now its much more important then just the regular weather now ;)
Scroll down this page (link below) to see a video (North Stream accident) made of the data from the provider i suggested (ICOS) https://www.nilu.com/2022/09/methane-leaks-from-nord-stream-a-serious-pollution-event/?
...this shows it is doable You could also try copernicus ...etc ..or even combine them. -
RE: Methane on map ?
@idefix37 , i dont understand what you are saying ...yes only for Europe ... the North Stream pipeline is in Europe ...and they cover the area also (Baltic Sea) ...and we are going to need it because more is coming due to the upgoing Solar-Activity. yes for outside Europe you (windy) will need to find another provider ... you are also not covering the whole world for radioactivity ... but still better something then nothing ;) Scroll down this page (link below) to see a video (North Stream accident) made of the data from the provider i suggested (ICOS) https://www.nilu.com/2022/09/methane-leaks-from-nord-stream-a-serious-pollution-event/?

RE: Methane on map ?
@idefix37 ... this is the best i found , not real-time (public version) but as far as i can see updated every 3 /7days, does CO2 + CH4 and more ... see stations here: https://icos-atc.lsce.ipsl.fr/map .. maybe windy can do a deal with them for realtime ? or the best available ?

RE: Methane on map ?
@idefix37 Thanks for your reply, hope you understand that this is for the Nord Stream (Baltic Sea) event, i wish to follow where a possible Methane CH4 cloud is going , the esa/copernicus data is not realtime (by far not) , and indeed the resolution is useless also ... maybe a payed version is. i just found that a possible proxy might be CO2 (incase it is from real direct natural origin, which it might not be in this case) ...so i try Windy's "Co2 concentration" , but compared with other data i found i dont see any correlation over the last few days... So what now ...any chances windy can add CH4 ? ...seems very important to me ...or you have any other suggestions maybe ?... near realtime, or at least once a day updated ..with a few days forward look would be what is needed. (similar to how its done for NO2) ..thank you.

Methane on map ?
Methane is not available in Windy
Methane often goes with a smaller amount of Hydrogen-Sulfide which is also not available
You can understand why i would want to see this.I dont find any good other methane dashboard either (all outdated or 2 weeks behind)
Question: is there any way to still see what is going on with the methane ?
is there maybe a "proxy" (other setting, parameter, gas ) that can be used to "see" methane ..since things often combine with other thingsofcourse some other realtime methane-monitor would be handy also.
