It appears Rainfall Accumulation is tied in more with models and future projection, and that is fine, except, I'd also like to see a real accumulation based on RADAR for time periods that have already passed. E.g. since I grow things in my yard, I'd like to know an estimate of actual rainfall over prior days (after buying 3 weather stations that failed within a year, I'm declining to buy another until a new mfg hits the market). Anyway...
If I try to move the Rainfall Accumulation time start slider, the earliest it can be dragged to is roughly 2am of the current day, but a rain event can happen over a 3 or more day period.
I would propose you allow the Rainfall Accumulation range slider to go back at least 3 days, and ideally a full week. Then, use actual radar signatures to build the past accumulation estimate, and the models to build future accumulation estimate.
If I'm overlooking a better way to access past rainfall amounts, please let me know, but regardless, I think having both prior actual and future estimate merged into the same display would be very beneficial.
