I definitely would prefer a comparison with a forecast at least 12h before observation time. I don't need a forecast for the now time. Then I can watch out of my window as well. To measure the quality of a prediction, it should be a real prediction for at least 12h, better 24h. Best option would be, if I can decide this in my personal settings.
The actual mode of comparing the closest prediction to observations almost taking place at the same time is meaningless.
Please take this into account when discussing new features with the developer team.

Compress left column on forecast comparison screen
Re: Could the forecast model names be fixed on the left side of the compare window?
For the compare-view I would prefer the behavior, which is working in the single model forecast of basic weather (Android smartphone). There the left column with the labels (wind, temperature etc.) is being compressed to the short labels (m/s, °C etc.). So I can see 2 days in 3h-mode. Actually there is too much screen space occupied by the fixes left column, when smartphone is in upright mode.
It would be another great improvement in this great app!
Thx in advance

RE: Timestamp observation vs. forecast
@idefix37 Do you mean, for each hour, when an observation was made, they put the most actual forecast for that hour from the whether models?
To me it would make more sense when they take the forecast i. e. 24h before observation. Otherwise the quality of prediction can't be weighed very good, because only a few hours before observation, they all merge very close to the actual whether conditions. 1 or 2 days before, the models often have quite big differences. -
Timestamp observation vs. forecast
I can't believe that there's nobody from the developer team, who can answer this question properly:
I'd like to know, what timestamp is the reference for the forecasts, which is compared to the observation in the given time?
I.e., the observation of this morning 9:00: Do you compare with the forecast 24h before observation time, or 12h, or the forecast closest to the time of observation?
To me, it's important to really weigh the fit of the forecast to the actual weather situation.
Couldn't find this information anywhere.
Thanks in advance! -

RE: Overlay the Vendée Globe race on the windy app?
@Korina Does this only work on desktop browser or also on mobile devices in apps or browsers ?
