Every time i take a short break from windy it gets orders of magnitude worse to utilize. I don’t have time to fuck around with this shite. It functioned very well and consistently ~2 yrs ago. And has been consistently getting more cumbersome and less informative. I don’t have time to explain the myriad things that are becoming overly complexified and frustrating. I am not interested in being your paying Beta tester. My only regret is spending any time at all returning to windy to see if you have made it friendly and returned it to simply functional with less glitz and proper easy to read charts. To the contrary!! Windy is a waste of time and money.

Complex loss of functionality

RE: Tide Forcast does not show up comming high/lows.
@Limitizm I started out pointing this very thing to Windy nearly 4 months ago. They have split the chart that should always be in one screen presentation into two separate screens. The orientation of the information is different one from the other. The font is very different and the graphical background is very different. I need to plan safe access for in water time according to this information. Now it is frustrating and something of eye strain. I have gone back and forth with Windy at least 10 times. Windy don’t give a shit! I have cancelled my subscription but cannot get a prorated refund.

RE: Just go back to the old UI please!
@hythlodaeus Windy functionality for planning my time swimming in ocean currents affected regions is also drastically and unambiguously wrecked. Windy is acting with utter disrespect by splitting chart information that must be contiguous for viewing, visually scanning and mentally planning i to multiple screens with different type fonts some of which I find painful to read even with reading glasses. They are unapologetic, unhelpful and apparently incompetent to improve and learn from mistakes. I have written detailed reports with screenshots. Cancelled my premium subscription and pissed off that i have supported with money and recommended this app to others who also need to make safe plans

RE: Current Upgrade a Downgrade
@swimmingbear7
The print on the weather picker function for tides/ current speed is so small I get a headache trying to read it EVEN with my reading glasses. How utterly distepectful Windy has become. Splitting up data that must be contiguous for decision making is already bad enough but to make it hard to read?WTF!! -
Current Upgrade a Downgrade
Windy Downgraded Premium! It’s supposed to be a reliable tool. Now a frustrating fumbling techno mess.

RE: New graphics are not good
The Data on the Banner
IS MISSING ON THE CHART THAT OPENS NEXT
In this case it represents changing current speeds between 14:40 and 23:06.
All this data should be visible on the same one screen….
Just as it was until a few days ago…
Having it split apart on separate screens is awkward and creates a fumbling problem where one did not exist before.This is the single most important function for me on your app.

RE: New graphics are not good
@idefix37
That’s good to know and certainly better than no control. However, in my experience data tables are most useful when the related data are present at the same time on the same table. In a unified presentation it is possible to scan for relevant patterns. Can’t you also include the data from the abbreviated weather picker version back into the tidal station tables. Alternatively, leave the weatherpicker banner display on the screen and open the station table below it so that both display simultaneously. -
RE: New graphics are not good
@Ondřej-Šutera I also just realized what has changed on the tide forecasts for tide height and current spreeds. The data that appears in an upper screen banner for a cross hair on tidal station disappears too rapidly for me to read and digest and is cumbersome to bring back. When I touch open the tidal station the recent past data and next few hours data from the banner is missing. This data used to appear and remain onscreen in the station data charts. This is frustrating. I understand many of your users are from more screen trained generations. This has the unfortunate feeling of a video game with things appearing and disappearing by the apps programming. At 70 yrs, I need data that i can study and consider. Thanks for your understanding.
I just went back to the screens. There is ~10 hrs of relevant data missing from the front end times on the station chart. That is the data that appears and disappears in the banner. The text size in the banner is much smaller than the chart and also gives difficulty in reading it under pressure of disappearing. Please, at least include all the data back in the stable onscreen chart as it was before: all the data in one place, not toggling back and forth. I choose my target times swimmming in the water with due consideration to the water exchanges before and after. Now I am forced to toggle screens back and forth multiple times.
I utilize this site to decide and settle my plans and like the confidence that results. It actually had been a pleasure to use. This new experience is quite the opposite; frustrating, unsettling and somewhat confusing. I am finding it quite difficult to formulate my plans now

RE: New graphics are not good
@Ondřej-Šutera isn’t the surrounding white border a change? The contrast to the main data field is harsh like reflected glare

RE: New graphics are not good
@idefix37
Sorrry, was in a rush to get in the water. I meant the data chart with the broad white border surrounding!

With respect to the data, I like to know the times and rate of at least one prior set of current/tide because the volume of water that has moved affects the transitional slacks at different locations differently.

New graphics are not good
The new graphics for tides, currents are rude to the eyes: like Pop art. Please revert. The current info is too abbreviated

RE: Loss of display data
@idefix37 Thanks for hanging in with me. Eureka! I was unaware of the “display on screen” toggles. Without “display on screen” toggled on, selecting the waves/tidal/currents in the list revealed by selecting the three horizontal bars button produces no stations on map to select from. This is odd because all other functions in the waves section do display without needing activation in the “display on map” function.
I was recommended WINDY by a kayak guide from Glacier Bay who ran me through intial setup for my needs. How “display on map” got shut off is a mystery here.

RE: Loss of display data
@Korina I’ve deleted the app again. I can’t download again until i get to my wifi base. If the problem remains I will screen shot it. One thing:I haven’t been able to figure out how to load a screenshot into these conversations. Will you please instruct me or direct me to the instructions. When i click onthe second icon from the right in the compose function tool bar, the below text is what i get.

RE: Loss of display data
@idefix37 that looks great. Exactly what i used daily and what disappeared 6 days ago. The next steps i took were to
1- hard shutoff and restart the device (no fix)
2- update windy (no fix)
3- uninstall from the device and reinstall after 3 minutes (no fix)What next?

RE: Loss of display data
@idefix37 thanks for clarifying.
Responding to your query: I am missing all: CURRENTS and TIDAL CURRENTS, and TIDE. What I see on Admiralty Inlet, Straights of Juan de Fuca, Port Townsend, Washington State, US are none of the tidal nor current points that I have been using for 5 months and consequently I can’t open the data charts for tidal heights nor the charts for current flow speeds, directions and times. Normally, if these points are not displayed I open the list of data types and touch to highlight the relevant information I need to retrieve. Then I close the list and the screen would show water locations all over these inland seas from which I compare to find the most conducive site for time in the water.
I just opened the same location you screen shot. My WINDY doesn’t give me any of the site buttons for opening the data that are all over the place in the water on your map.
Running IOS 15.6.1 iPhone 12 pro
Thanks for following up. It’s appreciated! -
RE: Loss of display data
@idefix37 the image you’ve displayed is wind. I still have no water “currents” and no “tidal currents”. I do have waves, swells and swells 2, wind. The data points for currents and tidal currents normally show circular marker/tab that will open a drop down table of tidal heights and slacks by hours or atable of currents showing ebb, flood and slack by knots by clock time. The marker/tab also display E for ebb, F for flood and S for slack. All are missing.

RE: Loss of display data
Currents and tidal currents have been out for four days +. They are not fixed. I have logged out and back in. I have toggled functions off and on. NO DATA DISPLAYED. I use this four times per week to plan for humans in waters affected by currents. @idefix37

Loss of display data
There’s nothing to drag snd drop. Currents and tidal currents have dissapeared from display
