The difference between the « old » map and the current one is just a question of color settings. On Windy YOU can customize the colors as you like. Just do it ! https://community.windy.com/topic/10336/customize-the-color-scales-of-windy-layers

it is not possible to go back to older version of Windy. In case you have older computer you can turn off 'particles animation' that will lower the graphic load and Windy might run smoother on your PC.
