    • HEAT DOME MONITORING- HOW TO ON WINDY

Because it is always so hot here in Texas every summer and we have to hear the dreaded "HEAT DOME" term so much, I've Been trying to learn how to view and monitor a Heat Dome on a weather map and thought I could do this on Windy. However, can't seem to be able to see it or figure it out on Windy's Weather Map. It doesn't make sense. TV stations will impose show a Heat Dome Graphic on their Weather Map making it very easy to see. I was hoping on Windy I could not only be able to see one easily, but monitor it and track it. Heat Domes are defined as a High Pressure Ridge that just sits still over your area. However, on the days our local weather says we are in a heat dome, I cannot see that same info on WIndy. When I Tick to show the pressure regions, the pressure over our city that is supposed to be in a heat dome, does not correlate to the highest pressure areas. As a matter of fact, the areas that show a "H" pressure region over it, our area has a lower pressure than that and we have the hotter temps. Maybe someone can explain this better or maybe Windy can show this better as a new graphic.
