@fdamore1984 That indicates freezing rain. I saw that last week when Windy forecasted freezing rain for my current location

RE: Three sugestions - new model & new features
- The mobile app should be updated shortly, the website is always updated first to find any bugs then the mobile app will be updated once the latest version is stable.
- The COSMO model is not easily available for free and therefore Windy will probably not include it.
- The small gridded models Windy uses forecast in 1-hour intervals by default and can not change that.

RE: Tide Forecasts not visible
@mgfrye I have the same issue. Not sure when it first started for me but I just checked, and I can't get any tide data either.

RE: New station meteogram interface is confusing.
@Bruno-Serra That is the new forecast vs observation screen. The red area is the observation, the blue area is the forecast. Its a quick way of comparing weather models for accuracy.

RE: Arrow with "mph" and direction?
@LLXC Could you please provide a screenshot of this, because I'm not entirely sure what you mean.
-
RE: Icon definitions
@hakkig If I remember correctly, that icon indicates partly foggy conditions. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that is what that icon indicates.

RE: Saving "weather picker contains lat lon"
@Francfo Do you use an ad blocker or anything like that? Sometimes if an ad blocker or tracking blocker is on, it might block some cookies from being saved properly which is necessary in order to keep the settings you saved.

RE: Login
@navimeteo_fc At the moment, you can't do that. You have to log out of one account and log into the other one.
-
RE: Layer Clarification
@malibusue No, not every layer is a "radar". Radar/lightning layer is Doppler radar with real time lightning strike indications. The rest of the layers are forecasts from weather models.
-
RE: Layer Clarification
@mtesta Correct, the radar/lightning layer is current radar with current lightning strikes on the map.
-
RE: time slider is jumpy
@johneta75 The slider has been buggy for a little while, it is a work in progress to fix it.
-
RE: What's going on with Rio Vista, CA radar?
@markping That is likely some interference on the radar disk itself. it's common with Doppler radars. Most other websites filter out interference like that by default. Windy shows the raw data so things like that might be common in some places.

RE: Would you like to report your weather station data to Windy?
This sounds like a great idea! Glad to know its something on the horizon to expect.
- I currently have the AcuRite 3 in 1 weather station, but now that the AcuRite Atlas is now released I am probably going to upgrade to that in the near future
- I currently report my station data to Weather Underground
- I share the data through AcuRite's own data share feature from https://www.myacurite.com
- If you could somehow use a similar sharing method to what Weather Underground uses, that should enable most users to share their data easier
- I would be willing to share my station data to anyone, as long as it's not too complicated

RE: RAIN FORECASTS
@Jonno53 Outside of Norway, Yr.no uses the ECMWF model exclusively. If you look closely, you can see that the forecasts from Yr.no and the ECMWF model on Windy are the exact same forecast.
-
RE: NEMS: Forecast detail for ocean locations is displaying UTC instead of local time
@Marienka I can replicate this. Time is correct when ticker placed on land, but incorrect when placed on water.
-
RE: RAIN FORECASTS
@Jonno53 Windy doesn't own any of the weather models we use. Any every model makes mistakes sometimes, even the ECMWF. It is good practice to look at some other weather models for comparison.

RE: Geopotential Height and Precip Question
@idefix37 I have the option for geopotential heights isopleths too, but it doesn't work for me on any model. Whenever I click on it, it just gives me a "You are no longer connected to the internet error."
-
RE: Geopotential Height and Precip Question
@zacharyj7 The isobars do animate as the forecast moves forward in time. And as for the geopotential height, Windy doesn't have a layer or isopleths anymore since a few months ago. Not exactly sure of the reason, I know that geopotential height parameters are no longer supported on the site.
And as for the ECMWF model, Windy does pay to use the model. That is why Windy is currently accepting donations to help pay for it.

RE: Joe
@trajo Windy got rid of the 3D option because there was a lack of interest at the time for it. But I'm sure that now a lot of people miss it the devs might bring it back.
And as for the NAM model, we don't control them so we can't change the name of the weather models we use. NOAA manages the NAM model, and that's what they decide to name it.

RE: Incorrect weather
@twodragunns Weather models aren't accurate all the time especially if you're only using one. If you're just using the ECMWF, you should try to also use GFS and NAM as a comparison to see if the forecast is unanimous among models.
