@BarboraSamkova What's the point of an app that is really fast at displaying something the user doesn't care about???

RE: Zoom level in URL is lost when displaying detailed forecast
Is there any way to get this fixed? It's so annoying.

RE: How to prevent zoom out when clicking on "Forecast for this location"?
The frequent zooming out is by far the most annoying feature of Windy. Is there any way to get a setting to turn this off?

I second this. The frequent zoom-outs for a variety of actions are really really annoying!

RE: Zoom level in URL is lost when displaying detailed forecast
@marienka It baffles me that you would think of this as a feature not a bug. I specifically enter a zoom level in the URL and the first thing the site does is wipe out what I entered and switch zoom level. To add insult to injury, when I have the detailed forecast open in the bottom it centers the coordinates in the URL in what is visible of the map but then the + zoom button zooms in on the center of the window, which is lower, so after three clicks on the + button the point I specified wanders off-screen at the top. It's most user UNfriendly!
The compare feature is nice, but it doesn't change the vector field shown on the map (which is understandable)...

Zoom level in URL is lost when displaying detailed forecast
When I load the following URL the map immediately zooms out to the (default?) level 7 even though the URL specifies level 13:
https://www.windy.com/34.490/-119.820?namConus,temp,34.480,-119.820,13,m:eCEacPt
It first loads at the correct zoome level but switches to level 7 before it's done loading.
This is really annoying because it also means that when I switch between forecast models the map zooms out again, making it really tedious to compare the models.
I am using chrome on Linux.
Thanks for looking into this! -
RE: Problem: Wind spot forecast differs from animation
@idefix37 I understand that when I use different models the outcome isn't necessarily the same, but in my example I specifically used ECMWF for both.

RE: Where does the weather station quality metric come from?
I can answer my second question, duh, there's a link to add a webcam at the bottom.

Where does the weather station quality metric come from?
My personal weather station shows up in Windy and there's a quality info next to it. I'm glad it says "very high" but I know that the humidity (hence dew point) measurement is busted. I'm wondering where the quality info comes from. I'm referring to the following text:
Weather station: madis, id: AT923, average reporting time: 10 minutes, quality of observation: very high
Also, the pane for the weather station shows:
There are no webcams around this location (or we don't know about them)
and I'm wondering where any webcam info could come from, 'cause I might add a cam...

RE: sign up my weather station...HOW
If you are in the USA and you register your weather station with CWOP then it will get into MADIS and show up in Windy... At least my PWS shows up :-)

RE: Problem: Wind spot forecast differs from animation
I gave it another try. Step 1: display the wind, note ECMWF model:
Then I switched to waves (ECMWF WAM) and placed a detail spot marker:
Then I switched back to wind and the animation (which is the same as in step 1) does not match the wind direction of the spot marker:
Is this Windy showing inconsistent data or is this due to the data sets not being self-consistent?

RE: Problem: Wind spot forecast differs from animation
How do I select the wind model and where do I see which is selected? It seems a bug to me that what is shown is not consistent. Also, I posted two images one using ECMWF WAM and one using WWW3 and in neither do the wind directions match the animation (in addition none of the three matched reality , the wind ended up coming out of the WSW!).

Problem: Wind spot forecast differs from animation
I'm seeing the wind spot forecast heading not match the animation. See these two snapshots, one using ECMWF the other WAVEWATCH:
