I have been using windy for 5 years. It has improved a lot since then by adding many important features for users. While it is true, done in lack, an option to be able to remove the radar smoothing. This smoothing is good for a cleaner presentation, but for storm chasers having the radar without any processing, or only the minimum, is important. Could you add a button that allows us to choose if we want radar smoothing or not?

We need the create animation feature back, at least for premium users. Sharing content with a watermark allows more users to discover the page. Currently, most users simply record the screen, which doesn't provide any recognition to the original creator.

@Suty I know I'm an old user of Windy (about 6-7 years). You're doing well. At least, give us a plan for 2025, or post why your team decided to do this increase (like if the servers cost more, we need to pay more for ECMWF, or we are going to add this new model which costs this...). Transparency is always better!

Currently in Europe (and specifically in Spain) we can see the accumulated rainfall only from the less accurate models such as ECMWF, ICON, GFS. However, we cannot see the rain accumulation from the AROME model. It would be interesting to add this option since it will allow us to have much more precise forecasts. In addition, in the USA they already have implemented the rain accumulation of the HRR and NAM models. Let us remember that in Spain we also have local phenomena that can generate serious problems due to the Mediterranean climate (severe storms, torrential rains, floods).

Another suggestion would be to add the new AROME-PI model only for premium users (I understand that there would be some costs to obtain this model on the windy). This model allows for very high precision predictions, especially with local phenomena such as severe storms. In addition to updating every hour with a resolution of only 1.3km and frames every 15m.

@Suty I think is better first add all the new stuff and then raise the price. People want to see why this increase. If you do the increase before, people only see that you increase for nothing.

I not found snow line in windy, the only "similar" is freezing altitude wich means the altitude on the aire is =< 0c.

This freezing is "usefull" for view the snow line, but is not as precise that snow line (MASL) which calculates the snow line by other parameters (freez alt, precipitation, precipitation intensity, humidity...).

Could you add this map to windy? I show an example for Meteologix, using ECMWF model.

@idefix37 I think he is not talking about future radar. I agree that the new interpolation on the past radar makes it innacurate. At least, we need an option to disable the interpolation for the white line. The new future radar, is not usefull for me, but I understand that many users requested these feature and its OK.

@idefix37 I think the same with @Sinewave1 . In the tab "Create Animation" there isn't an option to record the future radar or not. Could we have a button to only record the past radar or record past+future radar?

@anthony10 Is better to add it like a new layer as models can calculate for >7 days. For satélite I prefer to add water vapour.

I don't know if this is a bug, but when the 5-minute satellite feed fails on Windy, we're left with a very low-quality satellite image. This makes it nearly unusable!

I've noticed that Windy currently does not offer a SuperHD satellite option, unlike other platforms such as Meteologix. Could we possibly see this feature added to Windy? The new MTGI satellite is already operational and accessible through EUMETSAT, but Windy seems to be lagging in adopting this technology. Incorporating this high-definition satellite imagery would significantly enhance our weather observation capabilities.

@idefix37 Could we use separate layers instead? One for global drought warnings and another for agency-specific warnings? Combining these layers makes it a bit challenging to clearly see the agency warnings.

I’d like to propose a feature enhancement that could benefit many users: the ability to toggle drought alerts on or off.

Currently, many weather apps and platforms issue various alerts, including drought notifications. While these are important, some of us may prefer to receive alerts only from official meteorological agencies (e.g., severe storms, flooding) without the additional notifications related to long-term conditions like droughts.

Having a setting to enable or disable drought alerts specifically would allow users to streamline their notifications based on what’s most relevant to them. For instance:

Enable Drought Alerts: Users who rely on drought data (e.g., farmers, water management professionals) can keep these alerts active.
Disable Drought Alerts: Users who only want immediate weather warnings can turn these off while still receiving critical updates from official agencies.
This customization would improve user experience by allowing us to focus on the notifications that matter most.
